Judge in George Zimmerman case offers to recuse herself

Out of curiosity...

What if martin had wrestled away zimmerman's piece, shot and killed him...
Would the same stand your ground laws be applied for his actions?

Or would we hear black teenager ambushes and murders neighborhood watchman with his own gun?

No, it wouldn't apply if Martin had initiated the fight. Of course, he would claim Zimmerman had started it.

The problem for the prosecution in the actual case is that Zimmerman's story is both reasonable and backed up by the events. If you are a vigilante intending to gun down a guy because he is black, you don't call 911 and give a detailed report beforehand. If you are carrying a gun, you don't start a fist fight with someone who is six inches taller. If you hunt someone down and shoot them, you typically don't end up on the ground with them on top pounding the snot out of your head.

This case unfortunately fit into several convenient liberal templates, eg racial profiling, trigger-happy gun nut, stand-your-ground laws are dangerous. It also provided a rare opportunity for the aging race hustlers to get back in the news. So a man who appears innocent is being railroaded and will have his life ruined for political reasons.

No way , we wouldn't hear anything because that's the outcome the media wants but (facts contrary to the agenda) isn't newsworthy.

the jokes are a little sad to read the kid did nothing wrong. he had a guy following him and when he tried to run away the guy chased him down with a loaded gun. whatever that kid did in the confrontation he did to protect himself. his picture does not matter. you can't say self defense if you start the confrontation and are the only one with a gun too.
