JT's ES Trades

Easy does it, be patient. Notice most of the money was made going long in a heavily downtrending market as was yesterdays. That's 1 bad trade out of 14.

My setup: 5 minute candles and 1 minute candles. Look for the big candles that took price down 1.5 points at a time, wait for some exhaustion and let you 1 minute candles give you an entry signal. DO NOT use market orders. Buy the bid and sell the ask. 0.5 to 0.75 does it but you have to have some leverage, trade more than one contract if possible. Make sure you check market depth, that's the only way to know if the stock is going to spring back else you would be murdered going long in a downtrend.

Hope this helps some

Hi dgoetz, I can see your one   dude. Plenty of nice trades. I like your "contrarian" style. unfortunately I have been "murdered" a couple of times trying to do this (check my T3 today). Nice tip to check market depth though.

I will continue analyze your trades tomorrow (don't have time right now). Please feel free to post more of your trades if you like.

...I'm sorry I couldn't capitalize on them. Well, my day will come.

The trades:

Code:
Day	Trade #	Type	B/S	Time	Price	B/S	Time	Price	Quant.	Gross	Net	Time

1-Oct	1	ESZ2	BOT	13:08	825.75	SLD	13:12	826.75	1	50.00	45.20	0:04:50
Day 17	2	ESZ2	SLD	13:28	833.25	BOT	13:31	833.00	1	12.50	7.70	0:02:53
Rev. B	3	ESZ2	BOT	13:38	832.50	SLD	13:39	831.00	1	-75.00	-79.80	0:01:29

	Total 3	-12.5	-26.9	0:03:04

T1: OK. Auto exit.
T2: At the moment I made the trade, it seemed Ok, but after looking to tha chart I wonder what I was thinking. Cranked the stop up to my max, which probably saved me and gave me a small win.
T3: Thought an uptrend had developed, and wanted to get in on it. Sold at 831.0 Now about an hour later the index is at 838....
System: OK

Thinking about implementing a trailing stop. Looking at my trades today and yesterday, some more money would probably have been made using a trail. Not sure what pt trail to use though....
