Are you suggesting we become the "new, citizen watch group" on gov power since the media won't anymore? That would just be crazy enough to work...except for the NSA and IRS intimidation tactics...which were only reported early on by a few "right wing" organzations.

Seriously, in a way, putting opposing opinions in a forum as this may actually serve to give food for thought to lurkers. But like all things internet (and other media), discretion must be used in shaping one's own opinion. That is why I visit several sites a day from both sides. I'm not trying to change the world, just know what's happening in it.

4. The U.S. Marine Corps has decided to discharge a sergeant for criticizing President Barack Obama on Facebook.
The Corps said Wednesday that Sgt. Gary Stein will be given an other-than-honorable discharge for violating Pentagon policy limiting speech of service members.
5. Look at all the gag orders that were put out on benghazi and bergdhals unit.
6. Who was the general who got fired for saying something that he thought was off the record? McChrystal?
7. Additionally you criticize Obama and the FBI or the IRS comes after you.

Journalists haven't lost their guts. Few ever had any. What they have lost is their integrity. They used to at least pretend to be objective. Now they see their job as advocacy for "progressive " causes. Objectivity has no place in the modern newsroom. You can ask Sharyl Atkinson.
It's hardly a recent phenomenon however. Walter Cronkite was hailed as the gold standard of objectivity and honesty, but his reports were terribly biased and he revealed himself in later life as a far left nutcase.

JFK is regularly listed as one of our greatest presidents but few can name any accomplishments, other than maybe setting the record for extramarital affairs in the White House.
