Most Jews are to the left? Left of what? I was in the SDS in college long ago. My idea of the left is fairly anti-Zionist, pro Palestinian, Jesse Jackson, Nader, etc. Not necessarily me, but that's my idea of the Left. Obama left? You gotta be kidding. Look at that cabinet. Look at the money he throws at Wall Street. Now if you mean they are Democrats, mostly. Or Democratic-leaning Independents. Yeah, ok, I can accept that.
High positions in the media?
What positions? What media. There are 1400 daily newspapers in the country. How many have Jews in the top three positions? How many TV stations? If the percentage is more than the Jewish percentage of the population in the US of 1%, well shit the skew is probably a lot higher in the professions of medicine and law and accounting and finance than in media. There is not enough money in media, especially nowadays, for people to go into it. Biggest media company in the world today? Google? Who runs it? Next biggest News Corp. Run by Rubert Murdoch.
Only point I am trying to make is how the sterotypes get formed and repeated and exaggerated --and usually when people are looking for scapegoats.

Exit polls show 80% of Jewish-Americans voted for Obama. That's twice the rate among non-Jewish American whites. Obama is a left wing candidate no matter how you'd like to spin it. Other than military support of Israel is there a single issue you'd consider the majority of Jews to be conservative? On taxes? Gun rights? Abortion? Hence the statement that Jews vote to the left is true.
1400 newspapers? Who gives a fuck if the publisher of some dying daily in Macon with a circulation of 8,000 isn't Jewish. The Presidents of every major studio, the Presidents of all 4 networks and 3 of the 4 network news division Presidents are Jewish. As are the publishers of the New York Times, New York Daily News, Chicago Tribune and Los Angeles Times. Also one quarter of the Democrats in the U.S. Senate are Jewish (2% of the population) vs a single African American (13% of the population.

Just a coda, and I am going surfing; the publisher of the Times was raised by his mother, who was Episcopalian, I believe. He's not Jewish, in other words. If you think the distinction doesn't matter, then you are defining Jewishness as a race not a religion issue per your argument, and I guess we all know what that means, don't we?
I ran for U.S. Congress in Chicago the same year Obama was elected to the Senate. I was twice elected a GOP committeeman in Chicago and I've taken a handfull of poly-sci courses at Northwestern University. Plus I'd barely recognize Hannity if he walked into my office.

The same way if one points out that blacks commit homicide at a rate of about 8x higher than non-Hispanic whites someone will surely say "you're a racist."
