the real "upper class" doesn't work at all! (kinda like me :D )
Totally

ET not snotty enough for phony, aloof i-bankers,

people should better ask for advice on wine snobs websites... or ride the stuffy, smelly NYC subways in the morning, plenty of i-bankers there. they might not talk you though

Quote from nicholaf:

actually, you can try for the part time program. i know of many traders who are 35+ who are in the part time program

that is actually what i have been doing ( the weekend program) i have 1 quarter left...

Thats right it is and then as the supervisor it is checked again to make sure that 4.89625 does go to risk as 4.8963.

whats your point?

ever hear of due diligence?

Nicolaf- I think I agree with most of what you are saying. However, this trading firm is not some prop shop. They train you well for 12 months (rotating program through their trading team and information team), pay you a competitive salary and bonus. Also, the firm is a market-taking firm. Because they are not huge, I think they can continue to exploit inefficiencies in options prices. But like you said, I agree that my opportunities are way above what most posters here have available. Most posters here could not even get in to a crappy prop shop where they require a capital outlay and barely train you.

agreed that they are not a crappy prop shop. but as i said, job is not only the job, but the network.

even if you work in the gs IBD, you can still talk to the S&T guys, make friends, network. beelive me, if you create a network of fellow gs people, it really helps you down the road.
