Joe Rogan and Jordan Peterson, one of the best debates of all time.

Can't have any free speech. Liberals in Durham demand that speech they don't like not be allowed...

Alvarez and Karasik said DPAC officials have deleted some critical comments about Peterson's appearance from the venue's social media accounts.

"DPAC can do what it wants, but I do think, at a very minimum, they have a responsibility to listen to the people who live in Durham," Karasik said.

The key ironic take away from said opinion piece.

And what do you call demanding someone not be allowed to speak at a venue because you don't like what he has to say?

Ironic that free speech for liberals is only the speech they agree with.

Demanding censorship? I call that free speech; crazy, but free speech none the less. Now if antifa shows up and starts tearing up the place, or if Sessions starts locking up protestors at his confirmation, than yeah, I take issue with that.

Should I demand that the City of Durham cancel the next rap concert at DPAC because I disagree with the lyrics.

Which is more offensive — Jordan Peterson or some rapper whose lyrics constantly glorifies killing cops, contains the N word continually, and repeatly calls women whores?

Same type of censorship.

None of that matters, as long as you don't start taking actual steps in censoring someone's speech (like cleaning up posts done online by the school).

DPAC is not a school. It is the Durham Performing Arts Center. It is owned by the City of Durham. Their policy on social media posts says very clearly that comments that are offensive or deride a performer will be deleted -- a policy in-line with state law in North Carolina for government entity websites.

And I get that, they're welcome to clean up as they see fit, but their actions went further to "censor speech" than some protesters calling for censorship.

I would find that a city giving into demands that a speaker not be allowed to speak on government owned property (which he is renting) to be the ultimate violation of Free Speech and the First Amendment.

Sadly the left wing politicians who run Durham are likely to give into the demands of this rabble.

If they do, we'll be in agreement.
