Joe Rogan and Jordan Peterson, one of the best debates of all time.

Excellent video. Jordan Peterson is a clinical psycologist who understands human behaviour and provides excellent life advise. In addition, towrds the end of this video, he talks about the negative effect of simple carbohydrates and starches on one’s energy level and health. I took Jordan’s diet advise 24 hours before waking today up exuberant and energetic. Although I believe starches have an important role for impending high endurance excercise of over, say, 1500 calories, I believe most people will benefit from Jordan’s diet advise.

Jordan shows his political naivity when said he could not understand why the media does not promote the fundamental, basic life advise he is talking about. Our big goverment needs problems to stay relevant and big. This is why a large part of the media promotes problems and not solutions. The “We need the government to do something about this horrible _________” type of thinking seems to prevail.

The video is worth watching several times and it may be beneficial to take notes.

My life has already been improved by this video and I will use some of it’s content in client presentations to help inprove their lives as well.

A big thank you to Max E.

P.S. Joe Rogan in a great interviewer and helped Jordan clarify some of his own ideas.

Like. Like. Like.
Maybe you can help your buddy Max clear out some of those Pizza and 30 pk coors Lt boxes from the long weekend before you slog it back to SoDak.

You bad boy, you know pizza and beer are out because of the carbs. You wouldn’t want my Morrocan girlfriend to dump me because of a beer belly, would you? Although some on the Left appear to consider Jordan as a political enemy, his advise is sound for everybody, regardless of political leaning. I strongly recommend you listen to what he is saying with an open mind.

If you do listen to this video, let’s discuss it.

You bore the living shit out of me and as far as your superhero Jordan, I have no issues with most of what he has to say and I agree with your assessment.

I agree, Rogan is a fantastic interviewer he asks all the right questions then lets the person speak, and he understands all of the books and philosophy behind their opinion. Ill check those interviews out, you should see the ones with "Sam Harris," i believe earlier i accidentally called him "Sam Stein"..... but its Sam Harris, whose just an intellectual heavyweight, his talks with Joe Rogan are amazing.

This one is epic Joe Rogan, Sam Harris and Maajid Nawaz.

Yeah, Sam Harris is pretty good:

There is no person in recent memory who gives such a horrible, droll, boring delivery to the point the material is painful to listen to. Keeping the audio on for more than 60 seconds is a exercise in personal torment.

Not everybody is persuaded that Peterson is a thinker of substance, however. Last November, fellow University of Toronto professor Ira Wells called him “the professor of piffle” – a YouTube star rather than a credible intellectual. Tabatha Southey, a columnist for the Canadian magazine Macleans, designated him “the stupid man’s smart person”.

“Peterson’s secret sauce is to provide an academic veneer to a lot of old-school rightwing cant, including the notion that most academia is corrupt and evil, and banal self-help patter,” says Southey. “He’s very much a cult thing, in every regard. I think he’s a goof, which does not mean he’s not dangerous.”

Rather than promoting blatant bigotry, like the far right, he claims that concepts fundamental to social-justice movements, such as the existence of patriarchy and other forms of structural oppression, are treacherous illusions, and that he can prove this with science. Hence: “The idea that women were oppressed throughout history is an appalling theory.” Islamophobia is “a word created by fascists and used by cowards to manipulate morons”. White privilege is “a Marxist lie”. Believing that gender identity is subjective is “as bad as claiming that the world is flat”

Pardon me, but that's a whole lot of wank. Peterson is a moderate, right of center if anything. I'll agree that a lot of people give him too much intellectual credit, but that's because most people lock themselves in their room and have an alien understanding of eloquence.

Can you point out in the article where the writer disproves anything that Jordan Peterson claims?

Yeah, I'm going with the bolded above.

Simple, fundamentally sound concepts are valid and sometimes it takes an exceptionally smart person to realize and accept this. Remember, Jordan peterson is a clinical psycologist and college level teacher. His observations of young people and families over the years appears to have led him to the conclusions that proper diet helps people focus and that many young people from broken or disfunctional families don’t really know where to begin when they are on their own for the first time.

Jordan Peterson offers fundamentally sound life advice (Excuse all my misspellings in my prior post). What does the author who characterizes Jordan as the “Stupid Man’s Smart Person” offer?

It seems the Guardian(UK based) author is part of an agenda that attempts to instigate controversy and disfunction in society. By the way, the UK culture seems to be falling apart according to some media sources. The Guardian does not appear to be the UK’s friend either.

Sounds like there is an UK-based enclave of an organized political group that has interests in U.S. politics. A lot of the “evidence” for the Russia Investigation was apparently from the UK. I wonder if this was done for reasons of legal safety?

Futurecurrents, you may want to look at this situation more critically. You deciding that “Going with the Stupid Man’s Smart Person” simplistic phrase implies you are easy to game. Figure it out: One side wants to help society, the other side wants to help themselves above all else.

Again, what kind of solution does the author of the Guardian’s article offer that would benefit society?

Now let’s talk about the practical differences between men and women and how these basic biological differences effect life choices. The fact that men and women tend to seek out jobs that have a disproportionately large number of one sex or another does not automatically imply there is sexism or other type of descimination. Jordan says men tend to be interested in things and women tend to be interested in people. There are no real barriers for a determined and competent women to achieve whatever she wants. It seems the Left has few real issues they can competently handle, so they will make up issues in an attempt to stay politically relevant.

It has been exposed recently where air traffic controller testing has been “dumbed” down and work history requirements have been relaxed in the Obama administration in order for these jobs to be more “inclusive”. This is bad policy that increases the likelihood of an accident and would require the government to “intervene” in order to justify it’s largeness.

Certain elements of our political system create problems so they will have something to fix in order to justify their existence.

Figure it out, support those ideas that benefit society, and prosper.

Can't have any free speech. Liberals in Durham demand that speech they don't like not be allowed...

DPAC called on to drop controversial speaker

A recently announced show at the Durham Performing Arts Center is drawing outrage from people who feel the venue is giving a platform to a man whose views are rooted in sexism and racism.

DPAC tweeted this week that Jordan Peterson would appear Sept. 10 as part pf a national tour to promote his latest book "12 Rules for Life." Tickets go on sale Friday.

Peterson, a psychologist and a professor at the University of Toronto, is known for his critiques on political correctness, including white privilege, feminism and identity politics. His polarizing stances often lead to sold-out appearances that also draw protests.

"In the most cynical way, it seems like [DPAC is] doing this because they'll get a lot of money from it," Rachel Karasik, who would like to see the show canceled, said Thursday.

Mariano Alvarez said he believes DPAC was careless in inviting Peterson.

"I think it's irresponsible for this venue to give him an open platform without having any sort of opposition or any challenge on his viewpoint," Alvarez said. "I think he holds particular views that contravene racial equality and gender equality."

But Peterson supporters say his quotes are taken out of context.

"Jordan Peterson is a true academic who presents a cogent and logically integrated argument. You may disagree with him, but I would challenge anyone to put forward anything to substantiate the invectives of racism or sexism," Matt Nickerson posted on WRAL News' Facebook page.

"If you don't want to hear it, don't go," Tom Imler posted on Facebook.

DPAC officials didn't respond to requests for comment.

Alvarez and Karasik said DPAC officials have deleted some critical comments about Peterson's appearance from the venue's social media accounts.

"DPAC can do what it wants, but I do think, at a very minimum, they have a responsibility to listen to the people who live in Durham," Karasik said.
