Right now, a generic President might be just what the doctor ordered.
GOP always was against Trump but tolerated him to get what they wanted and after a year realized it was a shit show. Best way to get your policies across is via Congress which is where local mobilization worked better.
Nationally Trump turned off so many voters that it is easy to see voting patterns shifting Dem nationally but GOP locally in several districts
And if Trump had the media and tech with him... he could have been the most popular ever.
Can you imagine he came this close... with 4 years of incredible hatred.
For me and many others Trump is proof that 60 percent of americans are unrepresented by democrat and republican establishment politicians.
Let's recall some believe Trump was not elected because he was Trump he was elected as a middle finger to the establishment who has been screwing their base for 2 decades.
Its not surprising the establishment spent billions and billions of press coverage and money to defeat him...and they barely did.
They vilified the Tea Party too.
The democrats have done at a lower level the same thing to people who challenge their establishment like Tulsi Gabbard.
