The meeting was a disaster. I was totally surprised at the lack of skill of the American representatives and how crude they were.

Now, let's stipulate in advance that I was not going to end being anything other than critical given Biden's positions, but holy shiite, I did not expect to be critical for the reasons they presented. Gawd almighty, if you are a diplomat you dont show up and poke someone right in the eye right out of the gate just to make points back home with the public that wants to be assured that you are getting tough on China. Jeez, show some class and courtesy for gawds sake. After all Joe was supposed to be the supreme diplomat, that is why Obama chose him as VP and Blinken is supposed to be a highly experience hand too. Very crude, offensive position taken by the Americans that put the Chinese on the defensive having to defend themselves publicly. Gawd almighty.

I didnt like it. I expected them to gentlemanly and take the high road and not embarass them in public and then let them know offline and backchannel that there are areas where they need to change their behavior and then take actions that demonstrate that their consequences.

Jesus H. What is the next step. To go to Russia and begin negotiations with them but have them call Putin a killer right there at the table? Really low, low level of diplomacy given their backgrounds. Note that I am far more in favor of being tougher on China than they are but the low level stuff is just being offensive and is neither diplomatic nor does it enforce any real messaging.

Very disappointed in that little disaster meeting and totally surprised at their junior level handling of the situation. I know the normal response is to say that I am just taking shots at the Biden administration. Fine, I get that. So, if you are a dem, did the way they handled themselves work for ya and is it gonna get you where you want to go- regardless of whether you are dovish or hawkish on China? Okay, well, you see my point then.

What a disaster. Joe needs to prove strength with China by demonstrating and consistently enforcing strength. Not by sending representatives who have no skills and just comport as offensive peasants. Trump would do the crude peasant thing to but also did the solid enforcement of his positions which would allow him some freedom to some lovefest stuff as well with the same people. Lets hope that Biden and company have some other skills to round out the deficiencies on display this week. Sheesh.

Tara Reade took aim at both President Biden and “the media” for failing to hold the commander-in-chief “accountable” over her sexual assault claims.

The former Senate staffer was incensed over the president’s comments that Gov. Andrew Cuomo should resign if he’s found guilty of sexual misconduct.

“The alarming deflection and compliance of the media to allow Joe Biden to negate his own sexual misconduct is predictable but still shocking as a survivor to be so publicly erased,” Reade told Fox News Thursday.

“The trauma I experienced by Biden was very real. The fact he is calling for another official’s investigation and possible criminal sanctions for similar charges is showing the height of arrogance about never being accountable for his own.”

The media is all over the place trying to find a way to process this disastrous meeting with the Chinese.

I see (below) that some are trying to say that is "like Trump" I guess to protect Biden from republican criticism by saying Trump would have done the same or to promote the idea that Joe is in fact a tough guy too. Not working.

No, it is not like Trump. Trump played the good guy/bad guy routine to the max. He as very tough in his word and actions but also had a constant word stream of how much respect he had for Xi and the Chinese and that it was really the Americans who just let them can away with what the Chinese do. Then he would continually recount how he and his buddy Xi would talk on the phone, whatever. Serious messaging was also occurring backchannel with enforcement of it in the real world.

That little clown show Thursday was a disgrace and was a disgrace to American diplomacy. Bunch of whiny little Biden piss ants just showed up and poked the Chinese in the eye, and dumped acid on them and it ended out with reporters being shuttled in and out of the room to make sure the shaming of the other was adequately documented. What a disaster.

As I said yesterday, the lefties will say I am just taking cheap shots at Biden, but they know that session was a disaster for even their lefty goals.

Has nothing to do with needing to get tough with China. Nothing whatsoever. Just junior level diplomats klutzing around. Unfortunately one of them was just confirmed as Secretary of State. The irony is that they all have a long history of being owned by China and being pro-China and they tried to do a "tough on China" routine to help out Joe who is largely considered to be owned by China. What a disaster.

China got stuff on Hunter and Joe too. Joe wants to embarass the Chinese in some piss ant meeting, they got ways to even that score.

Go find some grown-ups for those meetings. You dont have to be pro-Chinese to engage with them and see what can be worked out. Refer to Richard Nixon for more on this. The guy had the personality of a toadstool and hated the commies but stunned the world by getting on a plane and going to the secret, very closed Red China and opened up relations.

This whole business of Joe allegedly having his first press conference coming up is a complete scam.

His handlers are just responding to all of the flak they are taking for hiding Joe and not allowing him to face the press in an open outcry type of environment.

So they are orchestrating another one of these stupid-arse scams where reporters submit questions and the staff selects the reporters to ask questions.

It's all bullshit, but they will have it, get it over with and be able to say that Joe has actually had a press conference. Just put the cardboard cut-out of Joe up there. Why not?
