So Pfizer has the ability to distribute their vaccines from manufacturing sites to their own small number of regional distribution centers and store them for six months in a the regional distribution centers. This capability is just a basic entry point for being a manufacturer of vaccines -- it hardly addresses worldwide distribution.

Delay in distribution of vaccine, mutating virus, reinfection, it's all bullshit put out to lay the groundwork to extend shutdowns and mask mandates along with other behavioral rules and regulations. They've got a taste of ruling by decree and they like it, they like it alot.
They will continue to use this manufactured crisis to further destroy the small business and working class. Now you may ask, why in the world would they want to do that? What is it the left wants more than anything? Answer, big government controlling every aspect of day to day life. How do they get that? Answer, take away your ability to earn income. What's their solution? Universal Basic Income and government healthcare. And you know what, people will not only accept it, they'll beg for it. Why? Because they'll be starving and dying, that's why.
What you are saying fits a lot of patterns. However, it will lead to a smaller economic base, ultimately affecting big businesses as well, including their leaders. So we end up with a big oligarchy, like in Russia, with everyone else discontented. What is different is the pandora’s box of modern technology has been opened. While the Government will have to play whack a mole ad infinitum in an attempt to maintain power, the fewer in charge, the more vulnerable they are, police and military capability considered. As seen throughout history, it will lead to genocide. A small sacrifice to reduce our carbon footprint, I suppose.
As DEFCON’s(Old game based on nuclear war scenarios) saying goes, “Everybody dies”, even if nukes will not be involved, including those huddled in their basements.
