Carter has a point which is hard to disagree with.
He's right, but you know he longs for the good old days when labor unions had all the sway and the media was free from the devils over at FOX. Now the entire system is bought and paid for, not just the dems, Kennedy and klan. Congratulations. You wanted equality, you got it.

You mean back in the days when the unions rioted, occupied factories, and killed many business owners while the union leaders stole millions... and the U.S. regularly called out the military to shoot the union members. You mean those days when the unions had "all the sway". Yeah, those fine days of equality - back when minorities and women could not be union members.
Maybe you need to read up on your union history in the U.S.
Actually, I was referring to the time when union membership was the highest. Not the bloody and fully justified fight to establish unionism.
We had more imagined equality. There's never been any equality and never will be. Originally a good idea that quickly fell apart. The unions as they evolved never really represented anyone but the bums. You want to know the real reason why unions fell apart? Because guys like me got tired of paying outrageous monthly dues to save the job of the deadbeat worker caught sleeping on the job. Because those of us with skills were paid little more than the guy pushing the broom. Wasn't going to last long with policies like that in place.
Shrug. And yet now we have, in a practical sense, a union of oligarchs. And it will take a union of populists and/or working people to disempower them. So who are we critiquing in this thread, the 1% who are forming their own "shadow" government, or the lazy guys with a broom?
The shadow has always been there. It's just a lot darker now, and no, I don't mean Obama.
The system has been corrupted by money and the boardroom boyz for quite some time. Like I posted earlier, Jimmy is right, but he was much more willing to be willfully ignorant about it before FOX news and the KOCH brothers came to be.
