In that area, yes. About 50-70 years ago, the evidence was not clear, and in fact MDs did commercials for cigarettes.

But since then, anybody who smokes, are basically playing Russian roulette.

And yes, i'd also say whomever plays actual Russian roulette are also idiots.

You're initial statement doesnt account for the fact that some things start off slow and fun but sometimes cant be ditched.

If he smoked and drank as heavily as previous commenters said, then he did good to make it to 86. My grandmother died at 56 from cancer due to smoking, my grandfather at 64.
