Jim Rogers

Quote from oldtime:

I have a problem with Monsanto, but I have never done anything about it, so their evil deeds are my evil deeds, because I am responsible for the government and the corporations. And that is why I won't shed one tear if we wipe out every man woman and poet off the face of the map in Iran.

At least get a letter ( has more weight ) off today to Monsanto ! It will even make you feel better about your gripe ! Following up with a petition ! Can work wonders. Letter to your political person. If you don't tell them they can duck the issue even easier.

I feel sure there are a lot of decent people in Iran. They are being oppressed by their evil bosses. Most people would be delighted if Mad-and-Bad etc were to fall and some more reasonable people took over Iran ( Persia ).

Quote from oldtime:

sorry piezoe, I'm a little touchy. I have family in Israel, and it doesn't bother me or them when some nutcase says they need to be wiped off the face of the map, we're use to that. But when a whole country of otherwise intelligent and well meaning people, just stand by and allow their government to say something like that, it reminds me that you get the government you deserve, and same thing goes for corporations. So the problem is not them, it's you and me. I guess that's just my mild conservative way of saying "power to the people". Yes, now it's Chevron, and they are still doing it, but it's legal (or not prosecuted) because they own the government. In my personal case, I have a problem with Monsanto, but I have never done anything about it, so their evil deeds are my evil deeds, because I am responsible for the government and the corporations. And that is why I won't shed one tear if we wipe out every man woman and poet off the face of the map in Iran.

And just how do the good Persian people overthrow their oppressive government? They are in no more of a position to remove their government than we are to remove ours. We, like the frog, have all been slow boiled into submission. Elections are a cruel scam, both here and there, and revolution ain't all that easy to pull off in the 21st century.

Like in Libya, Egypt etc. you need some locals backed up by Al Quaida and that great boob Uncle Sam. Hasn't quite made it yet in Syria - saved by the vetoes of Russia and China !!

that's a very good question

any ideas?

you know, we really didn't really care about these things when we bombed Dresden into oblivion. We figured, if you were German you deserved to die due to the actions of your government which you support.

Don't really see how 9/11 was any different

it's complicated, I have family in agriculture both here in the US and in Africa and at the moment they are benefitting financially from Monsanto, some even are employed by them, but they are (just like Jim Rodgers says) the lucky ones
