Speaking of which. I read sometime ago that while visiting a facility for wounded veterans. Denzel Washington asked why so few families were staying with the soldiers. He was told there was inadequate space for them to stay or something to that effect. He asked how much such a building cost. He then proceeded to pull his check book out of his pocket and write them a check for the full amount.

I've never heard since if there was any truth to it or not. IF true it would certainly make him a standup guy.

Snopes says it is partially true. He did make a large donation later but the part about him taking out his check book on the spot is an exaggeration.

Still, kudos to Denzel.
