JFK - Path to Prosperity

Quote from Ricter:

The problem with "leave us alone" is that Man's capacity for wrongdoing has not changed, but our numbers, and the scope of effect of the tools we wield, have grown enormously. And so it has for other societies as well. And the worldwide competition for resources is sharpening--the world is shrinking. So taking into account the forces for evil within, and the forces for evil without, the size of our government is no surprise to me. I'm not saying that higher efficiency cannot be achieved, but I'd like to see data that compares our government's size to other nations', controlling for population, development, GDP, etc.

That last time the government was looking out for our good it produced Al Capone. For those who do not live in Illinois, I cannot even explain how profound that was, to this very day.

Regulation easily falls under the blessings of liberty. If one group is getting systematically locked out of opportunity, then regulate.

Sub prime does not fall under this. The government cannot, and should not protect against stupidity. Even Ron White knows that you cannot fix that.

Let the stupid I-banks win the business Darwin award. Let the stupid homeowners do the same. If the onus falls on a particular sub group in our nation then that sub group has homework to do.

It's that simple.

Obama is a product of the Chicago Way, which the nation was not familiar with, if that tells you anything. And, believe it or not he is staying true to true to that.
