I think gay men are funny too. To see a man walk and act like a woman is funny. That is not being cruel because I would not laugh to their face and hurt their feelings, but it is so strange and funny to see a man be feminine, that it makes me laugh to myself.

For your information, I'm not so sure that homosexuality isn't completely absent a mental illness component, as the DSM-III stated prior to the gay lobby putting pressure on the AMA to remove it as such from the DSM, and the AMA caving in around the mid 70's.
But I don't like beating up on those with mental illnesses, even if the former categorization was correct.

The Catholic Church's reaction was and is disgusting. (I have posted on the topic.)
It is was a horrible crime and to this day I have trouble understanding why more has not been done. The lack of response has caused a great many Catholics to question the leadership of the Church. Unfortunately the inadequate response has left a moral vacuum that extends beyond the Catholic faithful.
Perhaps the Church would have chimed in with greater authority on Gay marriage issue in CA if it were not so compromised. If you watched the Catholic Bishops on CSPAN during the initial response to the molestation situation - you would not be surprised by the lack of response. It seemed to me there were a heck of a lot catchers in that group of bishops. I do not know why so many bishops seemed to be light in their loafers.
Is it that the priesthood was infiltrated in the 60s and 70s by whack jobs wanting access to kids? Is it that celibacy causes hormonal changes. Is it that the vows alienate too many straight men. Did men who were predisposed to being light in their loafers join the priesthood to suppress homosexual urges. Do most of the priests who like women eventually leave the priesthood for a variety of reasons. Is there a moral vacuum in the institutions of the priesthood that cause problems. Does celibacy cause men to become light in their loafers. Is there no tie between celibacy and what happened.
Lots of questions and not enough discussions or answers.
I for one hope that the Church continues to ordain more married priests and that they eventually allow them to become bishops. I am saying married priests will be more moral than priests who may be predisposed to being gay - but keeping their vows. No. What I am saying is that I think the current crop of bishops and the process that selects bishops needs to be changed.
