thats just silly or stupid. the most religion can do is sit there with their eyes closed and ears covered and scream "you cant prove there is no god".

Iterating through the arguments in this link, I've selected this one as an example of a straw man argument.

Understand Jesus' Core Message
Simply take a moment to think about the following statement:
Proof #21 - "Hello, my name is Jesus. I love you deeply. I have loved you since you were conceived in the womb and I will love you for all eternity. I died for you on the cross because I love you so much. I long to have a loving personal relationship with you. I will answer all of your prayers through my love. But if you do not get down on your knees and worship me, and if you do not EAT MY BODY and DRINK MY BLOOD, then I WILL INCINERATE YOU WITH UNIMAGINABLY TORTUOUS PAIN IN THE FIRES OF HELL FOR ALL ETERNITY BWAH HA HA HA HA HA!"
Yes, this is the central message of Christianity. See John 6:53-54 and Mark 16:16.
This is held up as "Jesus Core Message".
Actually, it is more like the core message of christianity.
But, christianity
does not reflect the core message of Jesus.
It's easy to make fun of the core message of christianity.
It reflects magical hocus pocus, mixed up non-sense.
So, taking it on is like a bully on a playground looking for the littlest kid to beat up.
But the little kid's fight for his beliefs, and the bullies fight for his "rationality" are a misdirection...a distraction...a false front.
The purpose of this stupid fight is to take your attention away from the authentic message of Jesus.
It serves no purpose unless it is presented side by side with the authentic message of Jesus.
So the false dichotomy is like a magic trick which uses misdirection to take your eye away from the deception which takes your eyes off the authentic message of Jesus.
This fight is a false dichotomy.
Is that not patently obvious?
And yet, "rational" people keep putting up a straw man to knock down over and over and over again.
When the truth presents itself, it is put on ignore.
That's because it has been on ignore since the beginning of time.
riskfreetrading,
Unless things have changed, I've been on vhehn's ignore list a long time now. He will engage anyone he thinks he can actually beat up or put down. It's like watching World Wrestling Entertainment. It's not for actually learning anything. I think by now he understands that every time he has me on the mat, I just keep getting up. So it's no fun for fans of fakery.
Christ!
