I live without drugs for this disease, none seem to help enough to overcome the side effects. I can say my younger years were much more difficult than now, but as everyone ages, one gains wisdom. I am getting better in my fight with Prostate cancer, but I have my days when all is a tough trial to get out of bed. My great grandfather, grandfather, father, his two brothers and two male cousins on father's side were of this disease and all committed suicide, I am the only one still kicking. I often have unusual thought processes that are not normal within society's norm, now I think they are funny, one can train themselves with professional help what is normal and what is not. I have always looked at suicide as easy way out, life is an adventure and God never gives anyone more than they can chew. Life can always be worse and it can be better, with effort, life can change.

I don't know if bi-polar helped me or hindered my ability to become a good trader, but I do recall 75 hours being up without sleep. I do see charts sometimes in different ways and can't really explain why I see what I see.

I think too many in America want to pass the buck on why they can't do something, always blaming someone or something else. There are many things I can't do, but that is up to me to learn how. And if I can't do something, so long as I gave it my all is all that counts to me. But too many quit without giving it all, that's the easy way out.

WE ALL have battles in one way or another, many have problems of discipline, you either over come or ....

Actually there is a more simple explanation. It is pretty common knowledge that he was bi-polar or what was then known as being manic-depressive. Without proper medication, bi-polar disorder often leads to suicide. There is widespread mental illness in his family as evidenced through his three sons, all of which committed suicide.

two sons Jesse Jr. and Paul.

I forgot the details so I looked it up. Jesse Jr. was to go on trial for an attempted murder of a policeman and if found guilty (he was drunk) that meant life in prison. So let's add that to being an alcoholic. He was 57, again, not very young for suicide...

I don't recall reading about Paul's suicede...According to Geni, he died in Vegas at age 74... That is not a bad age to die....

Here are the details of the end:

According to wikipedia, Jesse Snr the grandfather, Jesse Jr. his son, and Jesse III (grandchild) all committed suicide:

Jesse Jr. married Toni Lanier(Camille Bernice Froomess) in 1937, divorced shortly thereafter. Went onto marry Evelyn Bletzer Sullivan. One son, Jesse III was born in 1939. Divorced Evelyn. Married third wife, Patricia. Jesse Jr. committed suicide with natural gas February 20, 1976. His only son, Jesse III married Marsha Hawkins in 1964. Had two children David 1969 and Tracey 1973. Jesse III divorced Marsha. Married his second wife Karen, divorced. Third wife Carol. Jesse III committed suicide by natural gas on February 26, 2006. Jesse III son, David is currently married with 3 daughters and one son. Jesse III's daughter is also currently married with one daughter. All three Jesses have taken their lives.

Lets hope David, who is JL's great grandchild, and his son dont go the same way.

Interesting family pictures, including Paul Livermore, who became a movie/TV actor:

Interview with actor Don Stroud, who was Paul's stepson:

He also played stocks, and became an alcoholic for 11 years but kicked the habit....

By the way Jesse loved pretty ladies, so I wouldn't be surprised about the syphilis thingy....

Jesse Livermore - Boy Plunger: The Man Who Sold America Short in 1929
Book by Tom Rubython

I read this book recently...sets the record straight, fascinating, very much recommended.

This is what Jesse Livermore wrote in his suicide note to his wife:

My dear Nina: Can’t help it. Things have been bad with me. I am tired of fighting. Can’t carry on any longer. This is the only way out. I am unworthy of your love. I am a failure. I am truly sorry, but this is the only way out for me. Love Laurie"

After reading it, it send shivers throughout my body. It is a wake up call for all traders who are:

1) Ignoring family love at the cost of trading profits

2) Getting more and more greedier by taking phenomenal risks.

3) Complicating life through thinking or general mess

4) Not satisfied with the current wealth they have

5) Taking lot of stress, depression and anxiety medicines

6) Ignoring healthy living primarily because of trading stress

WAKE UP CALL. A millionaire of 20s ends up doing suicide.

good luck to all great trat traders
