That may be true but there is absolutely no doubt that the DOJ- acting by and through the local detention facility managers- was grossly negligent and purveyors of malfeasance in multiple, multiple ways before his death- resulting in the failure to preserve a high profile defendant.

First and foremost, unless you are a complete and total, total fucking idiot you do not give a high profile prisoner (who you are trying to preserve for trial) a cell mate who is being detained for multiple alleged murders. Not the smartest combination in the world.

Definitely, and Epstein's estate has still has plenty of money and those who are bringing civil suits have the right to do discovery as part of their suit. So have at it. There is no reason why their claim against him or his partner in crime babe there should end. Ditto for Randy Andy and Dershowitz and Bubba and Trump, whatevah. Go for it. Ideally you have a credible case though, but, hey, the court is open for you. Randy Andy might not appear to be served but a good lawyer will get you a settlement just so that he can keep coming to New York which he says is his favorite city there (I think he likes the young girls there, but I digress). Of course if he will not appear out of criminal charges, well then you can create an international flap and lawyer will do the cha-ching cha-ching routine to get that settled too.
