In the 80s when I worked on the hill for the democratic policy committee I realized I could never be a democrat even though I had tons of connections because when I walked into the economic policy office I saw posters, which said in spanish, the land belongs to the people who work it. I could not believe this was hanging in a Senate building in D.C. And in some of other offices there seemed to be commies in charge or pretty high up. I realized back then the pay on the hill for most sucked... it was a weed out, so only true believers managed to work they way up through the generally lousy pay.
My conclusion was that democrat party is run by people who prefer soviet style govt and control.
What I did not know then, was that the cronies or plutocrats had control of a big section of the republican party as well.
If I had known that, I would have been scared out of my mind for our future. The cronies want drones, the democrats are drones and the establishment republicans are will to create them for campaign money / bribes.
