Thanks for the post Skilluk. Over the 20+ years (the actual number makes me feel old :) ) i've tried a number of investments with mixed results. Spent a lot of years investing based on fundamental and technical analysis. My efforts in learning to trade since the start of this journal are more focused and in depth than any past work I've done. In my mind my consistency issues are specific to this endeavor; although admittedly my prior investing results were less than satisfactory.

But in regards to your point, I agree. Focusing on, in my case, a few set ups in a specific timeframe is key to consistency. Having the patience to do that is where many get tripped up.

Only that 1 trade today. yesterday's 2 attached. Too tight a stop on first. Second waited for support to break to exit. Looking at TL break to signal exit earlier.

The volume – maybe make it one color (reduces the chance of color imparting a bias)

The 8:03 long into the channel’s upper TL - ??

1st pink arrow – short (8:00)– in the middle of a range??

Note;

When there are upper wicks – on up bars… in conjunction with lower wicks on adjacent down bars...

View that as a range…. and a fight

Price is being rejected / defended from both going up.. and going down

Just didn’t travel very far before price evolved into a ranging PB

Notice the overall weakness in the PA – even though price moves up

1st trade – Short @ PB to res and TL – when price at the mean

Whenever price at the mean – of either a horizontal or diagonal range / channel – that is one of the riskiest trades going

Price could literally go either way – it’s a crap shoot every time

Just because price went up after you entered – please don’t think next time – go long


2nd trade – solid

But then why not short the DT (that the missed one)

thanks, RN . Yep, that DT. Hesitated then realized context was perfect for it. Missed.

Only those trades today. PA turned into a choppy descending channel that was great education. Definitely opportunities.
