Quote from RangeBar:
I will repeat: we have been hoodwinked into believing the fantasy that we need to spend such huge amounts on 'offensive' spending. No other country feels this need and it is a national psychosis peculiar to the US only. [/B]
It may be peculiar to the US at this time, but has occured many times throughout the past - - - and all those nations were forced to change. IMO the difference is in how many lives and how much treasure will be squandered before reality eventually forces our hand. - Its like the guy living the 'high life' on credit cards and borrowed money. In his mind he's a 'big success' and he doesn't want to give up all the toys and appearance of prosperity. He continues to run up the bills and buying the toys and living in his huge house. He may finally see the light, and stop the idiocy while he can still put together a foundation for building a real life. Or, he can go on spending till broke and till the sherrif comes to reposes all those toys and kick him out. - - -
