The whole point is that government should not have created a 1.5 trillion deficit to begin with.

And to counter your next argument (government isnt to blame for the deficit), yes they are.

sure the government is largely to blame. bush tax cuts, medicare part d, two wars and the recession bush set in motion are major causes of the structural deficit we have now.

it was mostly set in motion before obama. that is what i said. you want to cut. reverse the process. end the tax cuts, end the wars. take drug coverage from seniors. good luck with that one. at least end the bush rule that medicare has to pay retail price for drugs.
