January 6th - It's Seditious Conspiracy charge time

So I haven’t been following the January 6th committee stuff because it’s all basically stuff we already know and I’m content to watch Trump either ride off into the sunset or bring the shit show back to town - he’s a known commodity at this point - but Cipolone testifying has sparked my interest. His advisement of Trump can speak to mens rae and that would be of consequence if he can corroborate some of the other accounts of January 6th.

Hold those thoughts on mens rae as we get closer to the republicans taking one or more houses and they begin to examine Joe Biden's knowledge and participation of the activities of that the rather extensive Biden Crime Family.

We now have a very interesting growing conflict...Supreme Court Justice Thomas wife (Ginni Thomas)...pushed to overturn election results in her communication with Mark Meadows via text messages...

While her husband (Supreme Court Justice Thomas) refuses to recuse himself from any election court cases nor from any cases in the future that his activist wife is actively involved with...the rabbit hole gets deeper.

Just as interesting, the Supreme Court exempted themselves which allows them to decide on court cases involving their own family members unlike the ethical rules for Federal Judges that are not allowed to do such...

What the Fuck !!! :banghead:
  • Reminder - Trump often referred to some of the Supreme Court Justices as "My Court" and he expected allegiance to him.
  • Another reminder - Justice Clarence Thomas was the only justice to vote for Trump in the first January 6th court case that came before the court. Simply, what influences did his wife have on his court decision ???
America truly does not understand how deep the rabbit hole goes involving the Insurrection on Democracy and on our U.S. Constitution. It will be scary if the January 6th Committee discovers more text that shows the involvement of the Supreme Court Justices themself or in a cover-up to protect the involvement of their loved ones (family members) that had more involvement beyond "text messages". :(

January 6 committee has text messages between Ginni Thomas and Mark Meadows
By Ryan Nobles, Annie Grayer, Zachary Cohen and Jamie Gangel, CNN

Updated 3:54 AM ET, Fri March 25, 2022

(CNN) The House Select Committee investigating the January 6 riot has in its possession more than two dozen text messages, 29 in total, between former Trump White House chief of staff Mark Meadows and Virginia "Ginni" Thomas, a conservative activist and the wife of Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas, according to multiple sources familiar with the messages.

These text messages, according to sources, took place between early November 2020 and mid-January 2021. Thomas recently revealed that she attended the pro-Trump rally that preceded the US Capitol attack on January 6, 2021, but says she "played no role" in planning the events of that day.

The text messages, reviewed by CNN, show Thomas pleading with Meadows to continue the fight to overturn the election results.
  • "Help This Great President stand firm, Mark!!! ... You are the leader, with him, who is standing for America's constitutional governance at the precipice. The majority knows Biden and the Left is attempting the greatest Heist of our History," Thomas wrote on November 10, 2020.
CNN first reported that the text messages were in the committee's possession. The Washington Post first described their content.

Thomas regularly checked in with Meadows to encourage him to push claims of voter fraud and work to prevent the election from being certified. Meadows often responded. On that same day as the previous text, he wrote: "I will stand firm. We will fight until there is no fight left. Our country is too precious to give up on. Thanks for all you do."

On November 24, 2020, Meadows promised he wasn't done battling on then-President Donald Trump's behalf and evoked his faith as a source of strength.

"This is a fight of good versus evil. Evil always looks like the victor until the King of Kings triumphs. Do not grow weary in well doing. The fight continues. I have staked my career on it. Well at least my time in DC on it."
  • Thomas wrote to Meadows on November 19, 2020, "Sounds like Sidney and her team are getting inundated with evidence of fraud. Make a plan. Release the Kraken and save us from the left taking America down."
Attorney Sidney Powell, who worked on Trump-aligned lawsuits seeking to challenge the results of the 2020 election, was also referred to by herself as "The Kraken" in reference to the ancient mythological sea creature.
  • By the end of November, Thomas was getting increasingly frustrated with the lack of progress of the attempt to find a path to overturn the results.
On November 24, 2020 she wrote: "I can't see Americans swallowing the obvious fraud. Just going with one more thing with no frickin consequences... the whole coup and now this... we just cave to people wanting Biden to be anointed? Many of us can't continue the GOP charade."

The committee is in possession of only one text from the month of January 2021, four days after the riot on Capitol Hill.
  • Thomas wrote to Meadows that she was angry with then-Vice President Mike Pence for not taking the steps necessary to block the certification of the election results.
"We are living through what feels like the end of America. Most of us are disgusted with the VP and are in a listening mode to see where to fight with our teams. Those who attacked the Capitol are not representative of our great teams of patriots for DJT!! Amazing times. The end of Liberty," Thomas wrote.
  • Thomas' messages reflected a belief that the legal challenges presented by a group of conservative lawyers helping the campaign were valid. She attempted to convince Meadows to put his faith in the hands of Powell, who had spent the weeks following the election claiming to have mountains of evidence of fraud that never materialized.
The content of the text messages may be of interest to the committee's investigation, because it asked Meadows in a subpoena to turn over "both documents and your deposition testimony regarding these and other matters that are within the scope of the committee's activity."

The revelation of text messages between Thomas and Meadows, both key allies of Trump, comes as progressives and some legal ethics experts see her activism as a potential conflict of interest for Thomas' work on some Supreme Court cases.
  • Meadows turned over thousands of text messages before he stopped cooperating with the committee. The texts have proven to hold a treasure trove of information about what was going on in the White House in the days leading up to the insurrection, and what people in Trump's orbit were thinking.
The text messages in the committee's possession are only part of the tranche of documents that Meadows provided to the committee during the short period of time he was cooperating with their investigation. They do not necessarily represent the sum total of communication between Thomas and Meadows during that period of time.

There is also the possibility some messages were not turned over due to privilege claims.
Meadows and Thomas are longtime friends, both of whom have been active in conservative causes for decades.

While Thomas has been actively involved in politics, she says she has been careful to distance her activity from her husband.

"But we have our own separate careers, and our own ideas and opinions too. Clarence doesn't discuss his work with me, and I don't involve him in my work," she recently told the Free Beacon.

The work of the January 6 select committee has already come before the Supreme Court. In January, the court did not stand in the way of the release of thousands of documents from the Trump White House despite the former President suing to keep them secret under executive privilege. The vote on the matter was 8-1, with only Thomas dissenting.

CNN reached out to both Meadows' attorney and Thomas directly for comment and have yet to hear back. A spokesperson for the committee declined to comment.

Oath Keepers want to suppress evidence of Zello chat host ordering arrests of 'treasonous' congressmembers
https://www.rawstory.com/oathkeepers-trial/

The federal judge presiding over the Oath Keepers seditious conspiracy case is considering whether to suppress audio recordings of Zello chats from evidence at the request of the defendants.

The chats were recorded by Micah Loewinger, a reporter at New York Public Radio's "On the Media," from an open channel named “Stop the Steal J6” that was created by a user named “1%Watchdog.” The chats capture defendant Jessica Watkins narrating her experience as she and other Oath Keepers stormed the Capitol as other participants provide encouragement and real-time information gleaned from news reports. Loewinger and co-author Hampton Stall reported on the chats in a story published by the Guardian seven days after the Jan. 6, 2021 attack, and the recordings were aired on “On the Media” on Jan. 15.

Watkins, along with defendants Stewart Rhodes, Kelly Meggs and Kenneth Harrelson, are seeking to prevent the government from introducing the Zello chats into evidence at the upcoming trial, claiming that they’re inadmissible hearsay and are likely to prejudice the jury.

During a pretrial conference on Wednesday, Judge Amit Mehta indicated he isn’t sure the jury should be allowed to hear statements of the other chat participants, expressing doubt about whether they influenced Watkins’ actions. He said he wouldn’t make an immediate decision, adding that the arguments from counsel for the defendants and the government had given him “a lot to think about.”

The chats provide an example of how Oath Keepers and other rioters discussed taking lawmakers hostage when they reached the Capitol. Shortly after “1%Watchdog” opened the channel at 1:48 p.m., a transcript of the recording shows him discussing Vice President Mike Pence’s decision to stand up to pressure to set aside electors from a handful of states narrowly won by Democrat Joe Biden.

“Everybody can hear and talk, so their barricades in the national Capitol are being challenged, and — yeah.” “1%Watchdog said. “It looks like Pence is doing his traitorous bullshit, and the election stealing progress — it looks to me, at this point, that that’s a felony high-crime and treason in process inside the national Capitol building, headed by the president of the Senate, Vice President Pence, at this point.”

Judge Mehta said on Wednesday he is troubled that more isn’t known about the identity and relevance of “1%Watchdog.”

“1%Watchdog is someone who’s howling at the moon, saying outrageous things, sitting at home watching television,” Mehta said. “I would feel much better about this if the government could demonstrate that this was someone she knew or someone she was taking direction from. I’m not sure he’s anything more than a guy spouting off on a Zello chat.”

Assistant US Attorney Jeffrey Nestler said the government believes the jury should have the opportunity to hear the recordings because they shed light on Watkins’ state of mind at the time she invaded the Capitol.

“Ms. Watkins gets into the Capitol and she goes into the Zello channel and celebrates what she had done,” Nestler said. “It was obviously important to her…. Our point is that the other individuals’ statements are probative of Ms. Watkins’ state of mind, which is why they should be admitted. And we believe it should be a jury question as to how much weight to ascribe them.”

At 1:49 p.m., according to a transcript of the chats, “1%Watchdog” denigrated Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell as “Bitch McConnell,” complaining that he had “rebuked those who are challenging the Electoral College votes that constitute the f***ing communist revolution election steal of 2020 by these treasonous f***ing bastards.”

Watkins, as user “OhioRegularsActual-Oathkeeper,” responded, “Right, brother. We’re boots on the ground here. We’re moving on the Capitol now. I’ll give you a boots-on-the-ground update here in a few.” The government is arguing that Watkins’ response constitutes an adoptive admission that makes the statement of 1%Watchdog admissible as evidence.

In another statement, “1%Watchdog” described the attack on the Capitol as operating under “the civilian authority of We the People, constitutional enforcement action, direct action,” and claiming that there was “no legitimate authority in the federal government.

“The Congress has failed, the executive branch has failed — other than Trump — and the judicial branch has failed, Supreme Court,” he said. “This is the civilian exercise of civilian power to alter and abolish this f***ing tyrannical, treasonous government piece of s*** and drain this f***ing swamp.”

The government argues that Watkins endorsed the statement by “1%Watchdog” through her response.

“Yeah,” she said. “We have a good group. We’ve got about thirty, forty of us. We’re sticking together and sticking to the plan.”

At 2:03 p.m., as participants on the chat received news that the Capitol had been breached, “1%Watchdog” instructed: “Citizens arrest. Arrest the assembly, these f***ing treasonous bastards. We have probable cause: treason, acts of treason, election fraud, all kinds of felony crimes.”

Later, as participants shared reports that Pence and House Speaker Nancy Pelosi had evacuated the Capitol, a user named “SGT E” urged those on the scene to “find out where the tunnels exit and block them, too.”

Nestler told Judge Mehta that Watkins’ actions showed she was following the directions of “1%Watchdog.”

“When 1%Watchdog says, ‘Arrest those treasonous bastards,’ she’s in the Rotunda, and he’s referring to people in the Senate chamber,” Nestler said. “Ms. Watkins moves towards the Senate chamber until she’s rebuffed by the police. Ms. Watkins’ movements in the Capitol building are consistent with her following directions.”

While the government hasn’t disclosed any information about a relationship between Watkins and “1%Watchdog,” the creator of the “Stop the Steal J6” channel, the government has identified one of the participants, “FreedomD0zr91” as the leader of the Illinois chapter of the Oath Keepers and an unindicted co-conspirator labeled “Person 32” in the government’s investigation of the Oath Keepers.

Reporting to the other chat participants from the Rotunda, Watkins said, “We are in the mezzanine. We are in the main dome right now. We are rocking it. They are throwing grenades, they are fricking shooting people with paintballs. But we are in here.”

“FreedomD0z3r91” responded, “Get it, Jess. Do your s***. This is what we f***ing lived up for. Everything we f***ing trained for.”

The government argues that the statements of “FreedomD0z3r91” and other Zello users on the channel who are not defendants can be considered directives to Watkins or at least context for her own communications.

The government alleges that Watkins invited the Illinois Oath Keepers leader to attend “basic training” in November 2020, and that on Jan. 7, 2021, the two exchanged text messages about their unsuccessful efforts to reach Rhodes.

The government alleges that immediately after the Illinois Oath Keepers leader implored Watkins to do “everything we f***ing trained for,” she and five other members of the stack — Graydon Young, Laura Steele, Donovan Crowl, Sandra Parker and James Beeks — tried to push farther into the building by going down a hallway connecting the Rotunda to the Senate chamber, where they were pushed back by a line of DC Metropolitan police officers.

The chats also suggest that the participants, including Watkins, were likely aware that the Oath Keepers were operating in the context of a larger mob of Trump supporters, and cognizant of how the paramilitary members might leverage the power of the crowd to obstruct the transfer of presidential power.

“Pence is a coward, a fraud and worse,” “iWatchDirectorLaureen” said at 1:56 p.m., adding that Pence had announced that “the Constitution restrains me from claiming unilateral authority to determine which… electoral votes should be counted.”

“What kind of numbers do we have going to the Capitol, “1%Watchdog” asked. “Any estimates? What percentage of the crowd is going to the Capitol?”

Watkins responded: “One-hundred percent. It is — it has spread like wildfire that Pence betrayed us, and everybody’s marching to the Capitol, all million of us. It’s insane.”

At 1:59, according to transcripts of the chats, as Watkins and other Oath Keepers were walking from the Ellipse to the Capitol, she said, “Trump’s been trying to drain the swamp with a straw. We just brought a shop vac.”

A minute later, while several blocks away from the Capitol, Watkins reportedly said, “I am probably going to go silent once we get there because I am going to be a little busy.”

The government argues that the two communications can be described as statements of future intent that should be considered admissible as evidence against all the defendants.

White House Patched Through Call To Jan. 6 Rioter During Violence, Tech Expert Says
"The American people need to know that there are connections that need to be explored more," warned a communications analyst for the Jan. 6 House panel.
https://www.huffpost.com/entry/denv...mmittee-60-minutes_n_632e6d5fe4b01804e08e4812

The White House patched through a phone call to a rioter during the Jan. 6, 2021, violence at the U.S. Capitol, a tech adviser chillingly revealed in an excerpt released Friday from an upcoming “60 Minutes” interview.

“You get a real ‘a-ha’ moment when you see that the White House switchboard had connected to a rioter’s phone while it’s happening,” Denver Riggleman, former senior technical adviser for the Jan. 6 House select committee, told CBS host Bill Whitaker.

“That’s a big, pretty big ‘a-ha’ moment,” Riggleman added.

Riggleman, an ex-military intelligence officer and former GOP congressman from Virginia, said he made the discovery after assembling a team of analysts to pore over 20 million lines of data, including emails, social media posts, phone records and texts, to trace the connections leading up to and on Jan. 6.

Groups that popped up included the “Trump team, Trump family, rally-goers, unaffiliated defendants” charged by the Department of Justice, “Proud Boys, Oath Keepers and others,” including “state legislators, alternate electors, things like that,” Riggleman added.

“We were able to do things, I think, in a way that had never been done before with millions of lines of data and to actually create a graph that shows how these groups actually intermingled,” he explained.

As for the communication via the White House switchboard, “I only know one end of that call,” said Riggleman, who didn’t provide details. “I don’t know the White House end, which I believe is more important. But the thing is the American people need to know that there are ... connections that need to be explored more.”

The information raises the ominous possibility that the storming of the Capitol last year to disrupt certification of the presidential electoral vote could have been coordinated between someone in the White House and the rioters.

“From my perspective ... being in counterterrorism, if the White House, even if it’s a short call and it’s a connected call, who is actually making that phone call?” Riggleman asked.

“Was it an accidental call?” Riggleman asked. “When the White House just happened to call numbers, that somebody misdialed a rioter that day, on Jan. 6? Probably not.”

Riggleman, who stopped working for the committee in April, said he aggressively pushed the panel to trace White House phone numbers.

A committee spokesperson told “60 Minutes” that the panel has vigorously pursued various leads, including those arising from Riggleman’s work.

The representative said that Riggleman was unaware of much of the recent progress the committee had made because he left “prior to our hearings and much of our most important investigative work.”

Since his departure, the committee “has run down all the leads and digested and analyzed all the information that arose from his work ... and a thorough report will be published by the end of the year,” the spokesperson added, without offering details.
