If you're in the military, police, emergency medical, or veteran of either...

Standby: ready or available for immediate action or use. standby. adjective.

Historically, it's a phrase from the Navy in the early 1900's.

I'm ex-military, its a very common phrase in the military when giving orders.

---------

"Standby" is what's called a "preparatory command." Usually the order to standby alerts a unit that it will be receiving some kind of marching orders.

Of course Mercor "forgot" to include the second definition from the dictionary.

I didn't forget , I was posting proper use.

I say Trump was referring to the first meaning , which is the most common usage.....
But to make Trumps statement as nefarious , as negative as possible you need to change the meaning to number 2....This is the history of Trump critics.....To change usage of a words meaning to the most negative so it will fit a narrative

Did Trump send a message to P-boys...no
It is the opposite of Occam's razor

Very strange...I'm no longer able to reply to you with the words Proud Boys with its NPR link that explains why Canada now list Proud Boys as a terrorist group.

Must be a coding issue with the NPR link.

NPR links have an issue on ET. You will need to convert them into a TinyURL to post them,
