not being able to see the first 5 or so threads for each sub-forum makes this forum pretty non user friendly. reason: took about 5 seconds to scroll down the primary sub-forums page and see if any recent threads of interest had new posts in them (by scanning for the new msg icon). now it's necessary to open each and every single sub-forum to check if those threads have new posts. i like ET, but not that much.

The "5 thread per forum" view will be coming back. That was a hack that I invented many years ago to make the forum more user friendly. We have another round of upgrades to complete this weekend, then we'll be off to the races to bring back some of the functionality from before like the view you're referring to, along with some new features of course.
 
My 2 cents...

It looks good on a 4.3inch Android phone, forums and threads pop out - but that "pop" doesn't translate to a large screen - in fact it's the opposite. The big bubbly blue font doesn't give a clear delineation between sub-forums.
 
Here's hoping email notifications for subscribed threads will make an early comeback. Life is too quiet, it's hard to keep checking so many forums and folks don't see the posts so no replies. :(
 
I miss the print option on the forum threads. It help to have the entire conversational thread displayed on one continuous page instead of having to constantly click on next page.

Are you still not getting email notifications? I've been getting them so I'm wondering if maybe they are going in your spam folder for some reason?

Notifications resumed the day after I posted, back to normal now apart from the spammers a.k.a. Scourge of the earth.
