The issue about is grandiose statements is more of a concern with
new ET members not knowing the history invovled with Jack.
Thus, the new folks believe
all of this is about his method.
In contrast, those that have been here for many years knows how the debates got started and it had nothing to do with his method because he hadn't revealed his method at that time.
In fact, the personal attacks, stalking et cetera started
prior to him revealing his method.
Jack would counter-attack via showing up in another thread to hijack it et cetera.
The fact remains, undeniable, neither side (those against Jack and those for Jack) that has made claims about being profitable traders or having a profitable trading day have posted any brokerage statements, broker profit/loss blotter nor any other verification...
Not you nor Jack.
I have seen a ET member post many broker profit/loss blotters in the Traders Profit/Loss journals and he did say he used or uses concepts from Jack's method without any verification that his consistent profits were indeed via concepts from Jack's market approach.
Also, lets pretend or assume that Jack's method does not work the way he saids it does.
However, someone using some of the concepts he teaches to improve their own trading in comparison to their trading prior to using Jack's method...
That implies there's some merits.
The crazy part is that, from what I've heard, his method is just old stuff (e.g. channels) that's used by many to improve their own trading even though they've never heard of Jack Hershey.
Heck, my step-father talked about channels back in the 70's and early 80's when he was a successful floor trader.
My point is that when examining a method...you can't
just look at the grandiose statements no matter how ridiculous they may be.
You got to break it down into individual parts and take what you need if interested in the method.
Surely your own trading method with it's individual components wasn't entirely developed by yourself.
We read articles, hang out at forums, listen to our trading pals and pick up bits and pieces here and there to form our own method.
Has Jack said one thing that made sense to me although I don't think it has anything to do with his method.
Yes...something he said a long time about involving volatility analysis although he used the words "contraction" and "expansion".
Old concepts that's been around for ages...concepts used profitably today by traders that never heard of Jack Hershey.
Therefore, if he was to say to me that he uses volatility analysis to make 10x the range...
Sure, its a ridiculous grandiose statement but I'm smart enough to know that a trader can be profitable via volatility analysis and smart enough to know that Jack didn't event the wheel about volatility analysis.
Simply, your wasting your time and energy to get caught up with his grandiose statements of yester-years when you can spend the same time and energy to prove that it's not possible.
Also, you aren't going to scare Jack away which is obvious after
many years of these types of debates...
He's still here.
Nor will any newbie ET member be protected because if the method is that bad as some imply...
Don't you want these folks to be on the other side of your trades.
Therefore, why try so hard to discourage them or try so hard to inform the newbie when you should be doing just the opposite.
I'll tell you why...
Like I said before, it has nothing to do with his method (lame excuse) and more to do with
revenge (harassment) about whom he is as a person reflected in his message posts especially in threads where he's not welcome...
Traders that's been around for many years knows this as fact in comparison to someone new on the scene only hearing about the grandiose statements and nothing else.
Simply, I'm not naive to believe this is all about his grandiose statements considering many in this thread attacking Jack have made a few of their own grandiose statements without any verification.
These are my last comment in this thread because the moderators are too damn lazy to close this thread...reason why we are where we are today.
