I've paid over $60,000 in commission the last few weeks and im done

I'm always surprised to see that TD -- an otherwise good brokerage -- still charges this much for futures contracts. If you're not sure whether your strategy works in more 'normal' market conditions (March and April certainly have not been that), why not go to a lower-commission broker like IB for a while, before spending big on a seat at CME?

An IOM seat isn't expensive at all, depending on the situation of course.

But if you are paying $60k in commission in just a few weeks $20k to buy one or $250 per month for a lease can save you A LOT of commission ($0,71 or $0,83 per contract).

Which obviously doesn't mean a lower commission structure broker should also be considered, but even with a low commission broker buying or leasing in his case still makes a lot of sense.

Thanks for clarifying. Wasn't aware how cheap these can be.

What viable competition does CME have in ES futures? Its non existent.

The OP was typing about index futures. There are many other exchanges that trade index futures. The OP did not specifically mention the ES.

He did mention he wants to buy an IOM seat, that means CME index futures.

Was the whole point of this to get people to join this &%* site? What is your net worth? Given that you claim to trade 10s of millions in notional per trade, yet started with a couple hundred K a trade.

I came here to get answers for things I do not know, and I asked if people could avoid posting such statements but he had to so I replied in kind. The obsession with questioning things that aren't even relevant but has to do with money, or literally insulting someone for making money like the poster after him, is pathetic and annoying.

Ofc people like him need an explanation for why I am implying anything to do with money or size because they are so desperate to make sure no one is boasting at any point in any sentence. Well, because it is relevant. The # of lots I trade is the entire f'ing point of me posting these questions.
