Ivan's Trade Thread, part II

Oh dear, now what's up with Oanda! Quotes >10 away from anyone else and slippage slippage slippage.......in effect it's a >20 pip spread on Eur/Aud

Sorry for the breaking the thread rule.

Here is some info about myself:
I've been trading on and off since 1992 and have traded everything: stocks, options, futures, forex, but recently been more active Nymex Crude, ES, ZB and EUR/USD (via IB IdealPro). I trade other fx pairs, but not that actively.

I have a day time job and do this on the side, but planning on going full time once I become consistently profitable.

I live near San Francisco California, but find that mid-UK to early-NY session provides the best moves, so I attempt to trade in that time interval if sleep/work schedule allows.

My EUR/USD position size ranges from 50K for playing long moves (100+pips) to 300K for very fast quick 20 pip moves.

I trade primarily on technicals, but do take fundamentals into consideration.

I always use stops and never hold a trade for more than 6-8 hours.

Damn 20 pip spread sucks. I just checked IB and its 6 pip spread for that pair

Oanda are quoting a 12 pip spread but compared to other platforms they're way off with actual executable prices. Ah dear (sigh), Oanda got crap again......

Quote from Ivanovich:

Long, USD/JPY 250,000 units @ 89.73 for return to 92 area as range begins to narrow. Stop @ 86.40

Quote from Ivanovich:

I don't know what lunacy just caused that USD/JPY move down, but I added to my existing long with another 125,000 units @ 89.24. Too good of an opportunity to pass up just because someone decided to slam it down after the 10AM expiry.

Where's Chood when you need him?

Took profit just now @ 96.26.

250,000 from 89.73 to 96.26 = $16,961.03
125,000 from 89.24 to 96.26 = $9,119.34

$26,080.37

Not bad for a Tuesday.
