Ivan's Trade Thread, part II

Of course, I had my truck outside warming up, eating profits!
It's 25 degrees F. Wind gusts to 35 mph. It's only November.

Not trying to be overly scientific, but EUR/AUD seems, sometimes to stall near 50% retracements. I don't use fibs, but I guess...

Yes scalping was easy back in the day and times have changed, and beleive me I have been around a while but I am young I started this out of college. And made a ton in the late 90s and early 2000s and then I blew up and bankrupted myself not adapting and had to get a real job to save up and trade again. I blew up shorting naked options on energies by the way not day trading, but it has taught me to respect risk alot , becuase before I never had respect for risk. Just kept avgin in until I brought my cost basis close enough. That doesnt work. So I basically started trading again about2 years after bankruptcy and didnt it the turtle way slow and steady. I dont want to get burnt out scalping so I am trying to get into a less stressful way trading which is longer time frames but still intraday, I like to sleep at night. So I dont hold when I am sleeping. So with fx I am definately sometimes to trigger happy with spikes trying to fade which I need to stop. When I figure it cannot go any higher since it just spiked 100 pips, the market tells me oh yes I can go another 100 pips:)

Isn't that what they say, you're not a trader until you've blown up a few accounts :)

I'm an averaging junkie when it's like this, small trades and super-wide stops, I've got an EA that's running 24/5 just averaging and taking profit every 20/30 pips. It's only a $500 account but it's fun to watch. I'll post the EA if anyone wants it.

I hear you about 100 pip spikes, the worst thing is when it spikes up and then goes sideways for the next 4 hours, damn that's frustrating!

Does anyone here use MT4 for charting? I came across a useful little price alert thing the other day, if anyone wants it I'll post it.

Ok I guess I will learn something new about EA'S now. I will download mt4 and try and check it out. I use gft now. And tradestation.

Seems as though the yen crosses are following the equities markets but the Eur/usd does seem it is starting to disconnect right now, but its early yet so we shall see
