I can personally recall several times as a citizen being inconvenienced as a citizen due to both Presidential and Vice-Presidential motorcades.
And I also agree with your statement that there's a bigger picture here - that being a huge double standard. The Clintons spend many tens of millions of dollars per year of Clinton Foundation "charitable" contributions to travel and lodge and entertain with accommodations and amenities literally akin to The Saudi Royal Family - no exaggeration, Secret Service detail also in tow (that's on our nickel). According to IRS filings, the Clinton Foundation spends more money on travel than charitable grants. Apparently, Kominen over at IRS is just fine with the Clintons spending many millions of charity funds each year in Telluride, Zurich, and the Hamptons, etc. etc. etc. - so long as there's a 5 minute meet-and-greet thrown in there somewhere from a donor. But if the civilian daughter and her family of a President-Elect ever takes publicly-accessed transportation, they should be stalked and hounded based upon their Father's politics ? No. I have been unable to find any similar circumstance of this happening to Chelsea, or Malia, or Sasha. Double Standard.
