Now I must say, I am not completely ignorant to questionable behavior, Yes SOME Wall Streeters are corrupt, Yes SOME are snakes, Yes SOME have questionable ties to the government, but to insinuate that all/majority of people who work in Wall Street, or work for a particular Wall Street firm, are like this is down right deceptive or ignorant (take your pick).

This corruption can only go so far, and to think it is at the levels some people are suggesting is laughable (until they give up their lives to their cause and encourage other people to do the same)... which I fear, is the way we are headed.

Surprisingly they're not surprisingly not mentioned, it must be the work of free masons!

Long GS.PRB
Added to it back in April when everyone was arguing about their so called "disappearing month" of loses. This company sure is a lightning rod for controversy.

The problem with Goldman’s image, and they do have a problem, is everyone knows they got bailed out, yet they want everyone to believe they were just smarter. That is simply not true. They are well connected. So let’s not confuse that with being smarter.

you are playing with words and numbers. if a small minority on wall street who control large amounts of money are corrupt then wall street is corrupt. goldman is an example.

becoming well connected is a sign of intelligence.

You are becoming one of the biggest idiots on this board.

In what friggin' world would Goldman not be "liquid" without the AIG bailout?

Do you know how much GS received from AIG? Hint it was 12b

Do you know what a typical quarter of GS earnings are worth? Last quarter was pretty good. 3.4 billion.

If AIG had stiffed GS it wouldn't have cost GS more than a couple of years of earnings (tops) let alone blown them up. GS received a whopping 8% of the total bailout and in fact they only received a bit more than TWO EUROPEAN BANKS.

"Goldman Sachs Group Inc. led beneficiaries, with $12.9 billion, followed by Societe Generale SA, France’s No. 3 bank, with $11.9 billion, and Deutsche Bank AG, Germany’s biggest lender, with $11.8 billion."

Ding! Ding! Ding!

Winner winner!

That's exactly one of the big problems.

I asked asiaprop if Goldman would be liquid today without TARP funds and the AIG bailout, and he won't respond.

Goldman should have died along with their bunkmate (that they shanked, in the prison yard, while the so called guards weren't watching), Bear Stearns.

Thats nice with the cheap shot. I am just fine where I am and proud with what I have. I stay at my home and dont have to answer to anyone but myself. I can come and go as I please. Im not huddled in some crowded room with a bunch of traders.

Most of all, I have my pride. My bonus is not being paid by taxpayers. I served in the military and a veteran. Something that you will never have the honor to do or, may I say, have the guts to do. I would never take money from the impoverished and unemployed to get a bonus. That, in my opinion, is simply horrible. I could not and would not take a million dollar bonus if I knew it was coming from the taxpayer's hand. I guess I was raised a little differently then yourself. You obviously have a different set of morals.

When I say "all", I do mean "all" people are corrupt in some way. I have never met a man who did not do something underhanded at some point in their lives. I have never come upon a business that did not pull some kind of trick on their customers. There are no saints in society.

There is no question in my mind that Goldman Sachs was involved in some type of collusion with the government.

Why does the US government have to shred their F-14 fighters? Its because guys like yourself are selling the parts to Iran in the name of making money. Guys like you who have a different set of character and rules set and who never had to go up against these weapons.

Maybe you need to experience life a little more before you come on here and talk to people you do not know and come to your judgements with your prejudice.

Quote from Elitist Trader:

"retaildaytrader" <-- and that's all you will ever stay if you don't stop listening to people feeding you misinformation and taking an arrogant/ignorant stance to the truth.

Maybe thats half your problem, you dont know anyone on the inside and thus cant make an thought-out, well educated assessment of what has transpired? If that's the case, but you still have your mind set in rock that it all was a conspiracy, then you are a psycho.

People who do this have generally failed hard in arguments against people in real life (and been humiliated), and thus come to the internet to start arguments simply to win and feel good about themselves. They attempt to find other people who share their beliefs as a way to back up their own beliefs (Hey, if other people believe it, it must be true right?)

Don't get me wrong, there is nothing bad with seeking others that share your ideas, its the pursuit of proving something is so with the underlying desire to spite opposes that is the problem.

If spite is a factor, you filter out the truth.
