Bumper stickers are silly. From ages 28 to 68 a man shouldn't have bumper stickers on his ride. College kids and old farts doing the RV thing, it's ok for them.

That was always my suspicion. It doesn't even matter how "harmless" the bumper sticker is...For instance, what do you think would happen if you put on an Ohio State University sticker and parked it in Ann Arbor?? Some drunk idiot after the bars closed would probably key your car or puncture the tires.

It's just not worth the hassle of "offending" the mouthbreathers of the world. They've got nothing better to do than trash your property to defend their allegiance.

Currently, being "uncivil" works.

probably civil discourse works in academia, that's about it. Nothing is on the line. Just a bunch of psychological babbling nonsenseical educators using terms and phrases, nodding and harummpping. Harumph... harumph...:D

In case you hadn't noticed, the thread went off the rails within one post when a longstanding member's sockpuppet alias accidentally posted on his laptop.

I don't think there was much hope of the thread living up to its title after that faux pas.
