Certainly, the instinct for humans to avoid pain is very strong. I realize that my continual thrashing of your arguments is quite painful for you. Also painful would be for you to admit that you're wrong. Therefore, it's only natural that you'd seek to avoid pain simply sticking your head in the sand. Best of luck!
