It’s not Columbus Day in SF anymore — Supes rename for indigenous people

5 bucks says not a single Native American asked San Francisco to do this.

I also find it ironic that a liberal city like S.F. that hates Trump so much would do this for Native Americans when the Native American coalition put their support behind Trump during the election.

It's not ironic, Libs always know what's best for everybody.

Columbus was kind of a dick to the Indians though... As in genocide kind of dick

Genocide?

He behaved a bit more like a conqueror, sure. But I think you need to understand genocide a bit better. Perhaps go read about the Ottoman Empire and the Armenians, or the Jews in WWII.

His men did wipe out at least one unique tribe in Hispaniola. Group of people doesn't have to be in the millions to count as genocide.

I suppose succumb to slavery, disease, and punishment to rival outright intentional genocide is more appropriate..... But a mouthful

Kinda stretching the limits of the definition. But hey, we do that nowadays - take a word and "hyperbolize" it. Declaring war on a tribe because of boundaries, or resources or whatever, isn't genocide. It's not systematic extermination. But that's fine, it's irrelevant now in San Francisco!
