"It's just a flu" ... COVID-19 #1 Killer in U.S.

Yet another example of why "isolate the high risk only" is a fantasy.

It is nearly impossible to isolate a nursing home from the surrounding community. Staff, food, contractors, and others all need to come in & out.

The only defense is keeping the level of prevailing COVID across the entire local community low by adhering to proper public health measures across all members of society.

How dense and stupid are you?
Nobody denies there is a virus outbreak.

Get the data... find out where Covid is being spread... and design remedies to prevent the spread in those places.

Do you comprehend that?

Your own county has a dashboard showing that majority of COVID data points are red & few are green --- which shows that more restrictions are needed. Why don't you go take a look at it.

There is plenty of data in California to show that significant COVID restrictions are required.

Yes.... California gets that San Diego County is rated a purple zone where COVID is being highly spread as per the data. The proper remedy is to lock down the county -- which is what California did.

No moron... you have argued by anecdote multiple times...
This is about a nurse... as I said...

...

This below is a from a lady who is a nurse and has a treatable pre-existing lung problem, probably younger than the Gnus' nurse wife. This was sent to a friend of mine just now, tonight. I removed any identifying info. Well.. you may see something here, under a medical system not actually even that crushed, she would have probably died. Had she not been a nurse she might have gone home and not to another ER.

But hey, Jem's plan to let it run kind of wild, not very wild, just the right amount that magically will happen IN HIS HEAD... He can't grasp the scale of it but there would not have been another ER to go to.

"I was diagnosed on Saturday, the 17th, and had no symptoms besides a weird taste, but my husband at the cough. Called my pulmonologist first thing that Monday and got steroids, and neublizer treatment. I was fine and battling it at home, I mean was miserable, but I was making it. Until the following Thursday, the 22nd. Went to the ER, was diagnosed with bilateral lobe pneumonia, got antibiotics and sent me home. My cough was there. But not awful. The next day, I was worse and coughing up blood. Went to another Er where my pulmonologist was, pneumonia still. Stronger antibiotics and cough syrup, sent home.

Sunday the 25th, was an entirely different level of problems. O2 was dropping just by me walking 10 feet to the restroom, 83%. Struggling to breathe. Not thinking straight. My husband and sister realized something was wrong, especially when I told them about my oxygen levels (I’m a nurse) and I literally laid down and just tried to go to sleep. They made me get up and go to the Er. Back to where pulmonologist is, oxygen sitting at 88% with no o2 on there. They literally told me I was fine and my chest X-ray was great (they never even performed a chest X-ray at that point) finally they did one and said I was fine. Go home. This is normal. Oxygen dropped again to 83% when they moved me out of the bed. They still sent me home and told me no beds were even available.

I told my husband I had an awful feeling and to drive me to another Er. We drove 15-20 mins to another. Where we found out I collapsed lobes, thought I had sepsis I was so sick, and they admitted me and immediately started me on o2. I got progressively worse on Tuesday to the point of I heard them saying If I got any worse, I’d be sent to icu and possibly put on a vent. They kept having to up my oxygen and changing out masks. They would roll me in the bed. And my o2 would drop just by rolling. That day, was a huge blur. I wasn’t making sense to talk to anyone. Everything got better after getting plasma and rounds of the antivirals. I was discharged from the hospital the 30th and had been doing well. But sent home with oxygen as I still struggle to breathe especially with activity.

This past Friday night, I was hurting worse and coughing and was afraid my pneumonia was back.. turns out, part of my lungs still have a partial collapse, and I’ve already started to develop scarring. After fighting all last week to see my pulmonologist, they finally agreed to see me tomorrow after a chest X-ray. I’m so frustrated with the way his hospital did, I’m unsure at this point if I should keep him or what I should do..
"

Not sure what to do or where to turn and A NURSE.

Oh for fuck sake, it was the mother of one of my wife's doctoral or masters students not a nurse. I said she had 1:1 24/7 nursing and has died anyway in an excellent hospital and in her mid to later 50s I believe. Not very old.

If this blurred smear of recollection is all you can muster, no fucking wonder you are such a hot mess in your thinking.
You are mentally lazy Jem. How long did it take me to get you to mostly use capital letter punctuation?

One day you will actually put a few minutes thought into your isolate the at risk bla bla and realise yeah, this was impossible to pull off and is still a near of not actually impossible project without excess incidents of unimaginable infection fuckups and cruelty, real cruelty not some spoilt brat who can't play his golf boo hoo.

People like you have helped make the USA the global moral hazard lesson is now is. Grand nephew Kennedy's departure speech just recently about the problem with America being just greed is referring to cunts just like you.

no moron... the proper remedy would to be do things that actually prevent the spread of the virus...

1. Beginning with locking down the borders.
2. Then testing and tracing areas of fast spread particularly if there are superspreaders to be found.
3. Then going to areas where there is a outsized spread or where local area hospitals are being impacted by local residents... and then consider preventing activities that are causing spread.

For instance I said locking down playgrounds was wrong... You implicitly supporting that idea.
Well Newsom backed down for that stupidity when he was challenged.

The remedy must be appropriately tailored to the harm.
Willy nilly shutdowns not based on spread in those areas...
can be unconstitutional and are stupid.

Apparently San Diego's strip clubs are still open during the pandemic...

Supervisors plan to continue fight against strip clubs open during pandemic

San Diego County supervisors plan to continue their fight against strip clubs remaining open during the pandemic, even if a judge ultimately rules against them.

On a 3-2 vote Wednesday, supervisors approved a decision to appeal if a judge next week rules that two local adult entertainment establishments, Pacers Showgirls International and Cheetahs Gentleman’s Club, can remain open. The next hearing is scheduled for Dec. 16.

County officials have deemed strip clubs non-essential and unsafe during the ongoing pandemic.

Because a California Court says the lockdown did not meet constitutional requirements.

As I have been telling you..
Lockdowns must be properly tailored... pun intended.

I recalled and posted the link to it before you posted but some glitch occurred in the post.

In any case, I was reporting that there were already issues of overflow which are real and current. Your feckless drooling magical thinking about just isolating the vulnerable should be weighed up against that account of an American nurse who was unable to get adequate care, for herself.

You again post a point plan in which magically something we keep saying is basically impossible just works out dandy.

I see now you know you are yanking chains with this, it is all just how you get pleasure keeping people engaged. I'll be in socal later next year and you can try and yank my chain about it.

sure you did...
Narcihagen could never be flawed or wrong.
To bad for logic that your post was from a significant time before I began to respond.
