It's going down: Michael Cohen Claims Trump Approved of Trump Tower Meeting With Russians

On Thursday, CNN’s Chris Cuomo dropped a bombshell at the start of his show, announcing that former Trump fixer Michael Cohen has said that President Donald Trump knew of the Trump Tower meeting with Russians in advance.

According to CNN’s report:

Michael Cohen, President Donald Trump’s former personal attorney, claims that then-candidate Trump knew in advance about the June 2016 meeting in Trump Tower in which Russians were expected to offer his campaign dirt on Hillary Clinton, sources with knowledge tell CNN. Cohen is willing to make that assertion to special counsel Robert Mueller, the sources said.
Cohen’s claim would contradict repeated denials by Trump, Donald Trump Jr., their lawyers and other administration officials who have said that the President knew nothing about the Trump Tower meeting until he was approached about it by The New York Times in July 2017.Cohen alleges that he was present, along with several others, when Trump was informed of the Russians’ offer by Trump Jr. By Cohen’s account, Trump approved going ahead with the meeting with the Russians, according to sources.

"Intent to collude" is getting flesh on it's bones.

I cleaned up the McDougal bribe audio in Audacity and played it to a friend who speaks excellent English but as a 2nd language and had not heard it before.

He said "I'll pay cash" or will/we'll pay cash at a streach.

It is what CNN's audio guy said, it is very plain.

Collude with who? FusionGPS is an American firm and there is no law against American firms hiring foreigners to work for them - even for elections. What's against the law is to accept in kind donations from foreign governments, lying about it multiple times under oath and otherwise - they must have done that for a reason and it was obvious in Helsinki

(1) Neither SDNY nor Mueller has even talked to Cohen yet. He is doing all of this of his own volition. He has a lawyer, Petrillo, who is a former SDNY prosector. Dude must be screaming into a pillow right now. Cohen's lawyer is saying Trump's team leaked it, I guess to devalue Cohen as a cooperating witness.

(2) Donald Trump Jr testified to Congress that he did not talk to pops about the meeting. Lying to Congress carries a penalty of up to 5 years in prison.

This also leads to more questions - why didn't she use this dirt when Comey released the result changing letter and why isn't Trump DOJ prosecuting Hillary for this felony.

When Hillary's agents purchased dirt from Russian spies it is the same as if Hillary herself did it under American law.
Hillary's lawyers and Fusion GPS and the English Spy (Steele) were her agents.

If that purchase of intel from Russian spies were a crime, Hillary would be the lead in a criminal conspiracy. You can not insulate yourself from liability for a crime by hiring someone else to do it. That would be seriously flawed public policy. Think of the implications.

If Trump hired Cohen to commit a crime, would you argue Trump is innocent because Cohen is American?

Of course not. You would be calling Trump a criminal.

If Trump lied about this under oath then he would have serious problems.
So far, we have not seen it.
