but I will say I probably would have set it up another way because if I were president I would not be bowing to anyone but God himself. I certainly would not be bowing to kings and not the pope while I was in office.

Jem already explained why he APPEARS to courtsy, but does not. He is accepting a medal on a ribbon around his neck. You don't take the medal and put it around your own neck as that would be rude. And the damned king was short.

Personally. I think it was rude and shrewd that the king set that situation up, and shows Trump to be naive to accept that optic under any circumstance.

How do you not know what the circumstance was?

You are either naive or are carrying water for the rude and shrewd who led you to believe this was a courtsy.

I don't know what that was.
If that was a gesture of obsequiousness it was wrong.

I think McEnroe had it right when he said the royals should be bowing to the people who are doing things.

I think Trump was naive to show up in Arabia of the Sauds before meeting with important statesmen like Putin.

Whatever that little gesture was at the end, he goofed. All those gestures, including the dancing and the saber-rattling gesture were goofs. Only Melania stood her ground by refusing a veil. And yes. The arms sale was a goof and I hope Rand Paul prevails over it.
