ITM calls for EU-restricted instrument

I've got some ETF ITM calls that expire today. However, I was not aware that this ETF is restricted in EU. Did not think at all when I bought them. So what will happen on expiration? Tried the phone support yesterday but gave up eventually.
 
You should be assigned the ETF.
It is actually the only way, I believe, to obtain USA ETF for retail traders under EU regulation.
You are not allowed to buy it directly but you can liquidate it and hold it. So the option assignment is the way get one in, unless you get classified as a professional.

Better double check to make sure, but that's what I understood after a conversation with IB staff over the phone.
