Iterative Refinement

Quote from guavaman:

1. Identifying the previous day's status and what to anticipate the next day including when to include CO channels.

More and more, I am finding CO channels essential in determining where I'm at in the sequence. A couple of questions I ask myself is " Am I at a tape level?, traverse level?, or faster fractal level?".." Am I going from 1 to 2, 2 to 3, or 3 to FTT of that level?"

2. Identifying what constitutes a lateral formation, lateral movement and what constitutes tapes instead.

For me, laterals happen when price is going from pt 2 to pt 3. So the question becomes, "At what fractal is the lateral occurring?"

3. How to determine what constitutes an SOC inside a lateral and when to ignore what appears to be one.

4. When "no increasing" volume at end of traverse indicates a SOC and when it doesn't.

Is the sequence complete on the fractal you trade? If it is, look for SOC

5. What are the strict definitions of Peak Volume and how to differentiate between Pace Acceleration.

Like the rest of the method, this is still a work in progress.

6. What are considered Spike bars and what is the proper way to analyze them.

First, what do you consider spike bars?

hope this helps...

I am certain others have unresolved issues and questions as well that a diligent and focused discussion of each may well finally and totally resolve and we can actually move from the "learning" stage to the "profitability" stage.
Your list pretty much covers the topics I lack clarity about. As much as I am tempted to contribute, I think it would be premature for me to leave the 'inquirer' niche. Having done my share of blind leading the blind posts, I have confused more than enough people.

After chasing my tail for a very long time, I am, in objectively measured terms of extraction, pretty much where I started in the beginning. The major difference being, now I am even more convinced that 'something is there'. However, since the human mind with its inborn capacity to fool itself, is involved, I would not take my word for it.

Personally, I found that doing the prescribed drills results in gradual increase of occurances, where watching bars form in real time, rare moments of clarity arrive with the market predominately cooperating and moving as expected. So, while still clueless with respect to the big picture, it feels like one is making a progress. Catch 22 being, until one has a clue, there's no way of telling whether or not the progress is real or the product of imagination.

Feels like I am long overdue for a few earth shattering AHA!'s, which have been brewing in subconscious for a while now. Until those different parts of my brain begin to talk to each other, I shall remain a faithful inquirer.

Look at each day as a new day.
CO is a bonus.
Manage what is given you today first...
Knowing the place in the traverse and channel sequences at the end of the day is extremely useful ... to me :) This is more reliable than carry-over trendlines ... And from these, their slope is more important than their exact position ... Obviously, the eod to bod discontinuity has to always be carefully considered ... E.g. yesterday's 1555 and 1600 increasing red volume, although at extreme levels, were a very clear and [EDIT: not predictable] anticipatable retrace ... :)

... its a faster fractal pt 2 to pt 3
Adding that lateral makes IRV 1025 and the next one (PV) non-dominant, which prevents the pink down traverse from being completed and with signal for change.

huh??? your making it way harder than it has to be...here's a simple after hours trade based on what the 16:00 bar told me...
