Iterative Refinement

Quote from ljyoung:

I have a question about today's chart and would greatly appreciate anyone's help in arriving at the answer.

I cannot see which bar which completes the sequence for a traverse trader prior to Spyder's LONG trade. ...
Pt3 is cofirmed by the 2nd increasing red volume 1415 ... I see it is a pennant FBO ... Next bar: jokari Up! ... :)

Thanks charts for your opinion. It was my understanding that there had to be 2 sequential bars of increasing red volume to complete the sequence which is not the case for your proposed solution.
There are 3 bars of increasing red volume at 13:55, 14:00 and 14:05 but 2 of the 3 are inside a lateral movement.
Which is to say, I don't have a solution which involves 2 sequential bars of increasing red volume either.

Can anyone clarify the confirmation of the pink pt3 at 13:25 ?

Quote from dkm:

Look at Spyder's gaussians:

14:20 b2b pt 1
14:25 dom long
14:30 dom
14:35 non dom
14:40 non dom
14:45 dom pt2
14:50 non dom
14:55 non dom
15:00 dom
15:05 dom
15:10 dom (pt 3)

So despite 14:35 and 14:40 being non dom, it was apparently not a pt2 to pt3 move. Either that gaussian is not at "traverse level" or we can have a dom/non-dom/dom sequence between p1 and pt2! I had exactly the same gaussians but mistakenly thought 14:30 was pt2 and 14:45 pt3. I have yet to figure out why that is incorrect.

Did anyone ever get this figured out?
Also..

To clarify, on the dom / non dom drills Spyder has us doing, are the bars going to relate to the gaussian. e.g. All bars under a rising gaussian will be dominant, same goes for falling gaussian will be non dominant?
