label each Bar as Dominant or Non-Dominant and include why you feel the annotated label applies.

I didn't annotate my chart the same way Spydertrader did, but I think I see the logic behind his annotations. My following analysis is based on his annotations:

Bar 1 of 10/7/08: Dominant red. This bar represents the P1-2 dominant Tape of a forming down Traverse. It also shows Pace Acceleration, leading us to anticipate a non-dominant Lateral Retrace from Point 2 to Point 3.

Bar 2: Non-dominant; starts the P2-3 Lateral Retrace.

Bar 3: Non-dominant; continues the P2-3 Lateral Retrace but makes a higher high in the process, resulting in Spydertrader's atypical annotation of the Traverse's RTL and LTL.

Bar 4: Non-dominant; Price begins moving in the dominant direction but closes in LM on DRV. The post-P3 dominant movement has not yet begun.

Bar 5: Dominant; breaks out of LM on IRV, giving us a provisional P3 down Traverse which still must be confirmed by more IRV that doesn't come from Lateral BO or FBO.

Bar 6: Dominant; confirms P3 down with more IRV that doesn't come from Lateral BO or FBO. Shows acceleration of the Gaussians slope.

Bar 7: Dominant; OB on IRV which closes inside range of previous bar, giving us a Jokari Window Traverse-level change signal to up. (Before seeing Spydertrader's annotations, I had Bar 7 labeled as P2 down of a yet-to-be-completed down Traverse.)

Bar 8: Non-dominant; Symmetrical Pennant.

Bar 9: Dominant; IBV as BOs SP and RTL. P1-2 up is forming. (Before seeing Spydertrader's annotations, I had this bar as part of non-dominant P2-3 Tape of a forming P3 down Traverse.)

Bar 10: Non-dominant; beginning of P2-3 retrace of forming P3 up Traverse. (Before seeing Spydertrader's annotations, I had the bar as part of non-dominant P2-3 retrace of a forming P3 down Traverse.)

Looking at what happened after Bar 10, I don't see a Traverse-level change signal back to down. Also, my data provider shows decreasing Volume on Bar 7, invalidating that bar as a Traverse-level change signal to up. If Bar 6 shows Peak Volume rather than Pace Acceleration, then this would give me a Traverse-level change signal to up based on my data. But I still don't see a Point 3 up after Bar 7 that was confirmed by more IBV that didn't come from Lateral BO or FBO. Perhaps Spydertrader's annotations are not appropriate for an ES-only Traverse level trader?

I just read Spyder's follow-up post -- here are my answers for 10/6/08, 15:50-eod:

15:50 Dominant; BO of LM on IBV, also Pace Acceleration.

15:55 Non-dominant; price moves in dominant direction but on DBV; this is the non-dominant movement that we anticipated after seeing Pace Acceleration on the previous bar. Now we anticipate a return to dominant black before getting a Traverse-level signal of change.

16:00 Dominant; black dominance reasserts itself with IBV; however, it's an IBGS with a close inside the range of the previous bar. Therefore, it's a Traverse-level change signal to down.

16:05 Non-dominant, as the market begins the descending part of the R2R Gaussian shift on its way from P1-2 down.

16:10 Non-dominant; continuation of the descending part of the R2R Gaussian shift, and continuation of P1-2 down.

16:10 Dominant; IRV appears, beginning the ascending portion of the R2R Gaussian shift and continuing the P1-2 down Tape.

Hopefully, this will motivate a few of the many lurkers (as well as those who post on an infrequent basis) to jump right in.
