Hi Romanus,

Thanks for pullling out the reference to bar 1. I see I had a typo in there. My mind was saying dominance was down (SHORT) on the opening bar but I see I typed Non-Dom.

Thanks again for reviewing and catching the error.

Also, thanks for the cool image demonstrating continuity for the close-open. I have some more thoughts (things to work out in my mind) which I would like to share for dialog but need some time to gather them up :)
 
In an effort to allow all those who wish to participate an opportunity to do so, I plan to hold off posting on this subject (Dom / Non-Dom Drill) until tomorrow evening.

As a side note, a person with average observation skills might note the same usernames participating in the drills - time and time again (even after developing the ability to profit daily), while countless others (many of whom have yet to achieve their goal of consistant profitability), fail to avail themselves of these opportunities - time and time again.

Again, the drill isn't about seeing who correctly annotates each bar on the chart snip. Instead, the drill is about learning where in the M-A-D-A Process the trader still needs to apply focus.

Hopefully, this will motivate a few of the many lurkers (as well as those who post on an infrequent basis) to jump right in.

Edit: For those who may wish to edit their answer, the chart snip begins at 15:50 ES [close of] Bar. Your response should begin there as well - unless of course you think I accidently chose that bar to begin the snip. :)

  1. Nicely done! I guess, when I look at the bars I see dominance shifting (or the anticipation thereof) with certain bars. For instance, 16:00 and 10:05. So I may have performed the drill incorrectly with regard to bar-by-bar Dom/Non-Dom assignment and looked at it more from the perspective of 5M fractal level and continuation/change on that level.

:D Me, I was looking at carry over gaussians on Spydertrader's chart. Had I been paying attention to them, I would have avoided a 2 hr headache trying to make sense of the AM.
 
Today I had premarket displayed and tried starting with that so I will post that chart first. The next post will have the drill.
I started at the open thinking we were in a lateral 2-3 move of an up seq. When debriefing a few bars later I found an error in my analysis and changed it. Anyway I started with one of my favorite plays, an fbo of a 2-3 move lateral. Entered long at the bottom and placed an exit limit at top. Got out nicely and looked to reenter long thinking it needed IBV out of lat. About this time I realized I had an R2R followed by DBV so changed and found an entry short. I felt very fortunate my first trade worked since my analysis was incorrect for the data I was using. The next trade also worked but had correct analysis.

I have only used premarket like this the last few days and cant make sense of the sequences now that I debrief the area. The sequences are much clearer using the RTH chart like Spyder posted. I'll have to return to that pracitce.
