Since the Lateral in this specific case doesn't perform the role of retrace, traverse or channel, I don't see why one couldn't annotate as you suggest.

Nothing significant comes to mind requiring one to draw it in as I did.

I did not say to unlearn anything. Everything learned to this point has its place, and will serve you well later - after passing the Monitoring Process (correctly this time).

Simply, set things aside in order to enter the learning process without bias.
