Iterative Refinement

Quote from Jesus_Freak:

Chuy,
I think I see what might be up with CXO, and why the charting software coloring might be confusing you. Someone just corrected me about a volume bar I had colored red, when it was really colored black. The reason being that the bar, though it was lower overall, had made a higher high. This is the case with cxo here.

Thank you, JF.

I am running QuoteTracker and changed coloring of bars to Historical this morning. Seems to be in line with what you are pointing out.

CXO hit DU real fast this morning. Like you, I was anticipating a fall back, but never sure with this stock. Have attached 30 minute chart showing possible break of lateral.

I still don't quite understand why (i.e. How far down would the below bar have to go down before it is considered red?), but I am hoping further reading will help me understand how to color what, as I guess the software is sometimes wrong.... (I am currently using qcharts)

Qcharts doesn't allow a trader to set correct Bar Coloration. I posted how one should 'view' a bar color earlier in the Iterative Refinement Thread. That post should make it clear for you.

I'll probably move over to quotetracker then.... it's cheaper anyway.

I actually closed out of that today. 13 % ain't bad :)

But I would like input as to whether my logic made sense. I saw that the volume seemed to have just made it into the "EXTREME" area. Barely, but it was there. In addition, the stock never made it back to its opening price. Am I wrong to look at these two facts as indicators of change?

I just wish I had the courage yesterday to reverse instead of exiting :).

Great job Mr Black...

I ended profitable but left quite a bit on the table... Got turned around at the 10:35 mark anticipating a deccelerated down channel, turns out the retrace had begun... Will have to debrief and post chart later, damn work...
