Iterative Refinement

I'm using Z liffe futures on a 2 minute chart as a leading indicator. This works quite well as volume increases tends to translate faster into price movement on the Z.
cool cool, Hadn't thought of that yet. Thank you for that tip:)

These chubby tapes

You have a 'tape' drawn in - not a 'chubby' tape. A review of the definitions for tape, channel and 'chubby' tape might prove helpful. In addition, you might find the use of carryover channels helpful.

These chubby tapes have been drivng me mad - I can't seem to figure out whether to treat them as pt3 channels or single traverses. After the red one this morning I was expecting pt3 up and at some point it was evident (not to me) that it won't come. Was it 1050 close of RTL BO on increased red volume that said: don't wait for pt3 up? Any hints would be greatly appreciated.
These chubby tapes - do we treat them as channels for all intents and purposes or is there some underlying logic re: new pt3, that has eluded me so far?

Is this relevant to you? you did not have increasing on the actual bar (point 3) this may be the clue. Is say may:)

Is this a requirement for a point three?

Does the increasing volume have to be on the same bar?

Thank you.

For those who may have forgotten, I'd like to take a quick moment to welcome back our old friend - CCC.

It's been a while.

A tight range day and the return of CCC - Looks like summer. :D

I believe you do have a chubby tape there, it's the green down tape after the red FTT.... [/B]
Yes, that one is supposed to be a pt1 to pt2 traverse for the down channel that would match the slope of carry over channel. Soo, I am patiently waiting for pt3 down, followed by either an FTT to pt2 in a new up channel, or new dominant traverse down. On the other hand I have accelerated pt3 down channel (blue) with FTT in it and new pt3 up channel, but that leaves that chubby down tape (teal) sort of hanging in the air. I am in the 'Stuckville' with no way out:confused:

Absolutely not a requirement, but to me, it's another signal.

You shouldn't be.

The market confirmed the blue down channel. The market did not confirm your chubby tape. BTW, I referred to the red up channel in my previous post in case any confusion existed.
