Iterative Refinement

Hi Vorzo,
I was generating pdf from your files.
and I noticed that your execution statement screenshot was taken at 1/18/2008 10:47pm which in the middle of 12 trades! How did that happen?

I live on the West Coast, but I run my computers on London time (I collect FX data and run some systems that require this time zone).

and what do you mean by "pace overextand"

"Pace indicates price overextended" - meaning that price has run MORE (low to high) than Mak's PRV table indicates for that particular pace level, so I anticipated it to roll back. In my experience, this occurs sometimes after long (6-10pt) bars, and along with other considerations indicated on the screenshot, it led to my decision to exit the trade. I referred to this in a prior post.

Vorzo

Haroki,

QCharts don't use RS/EPS rank. I used the following parameters:

price, 65 day vol, float, positive eps, %insider and %institutional.

Here is my 5 minute chart. Whilst you folks in America slept, we watched the market drop good 70 points in horror. :D
I have posted some more charts on ES journal, I had some company there this morning.:p

The symbol change also precipitated the removal of BTJ from my Final Universe. Thanks for the 'Heads Up' post.

Did you replace BTJ with BOLT in your final universe or did you remove it.

If you did remove it, I am curious as the reasons. BOLT with data from its time as BTJ still has rank.

Thanks

In the past, when a company changed their symbol, Qcharts failed to include the 'previous symbol data' with the new symbol. As a result, the 'new' symbol then failed to have the required 127 days of data needed for smooth operation of the chartscripts. As such, I deleted BTJ / BOLT from the Final Universe for 'lack of data' reasons. Should your own data provider 'include' all data with the symbol change, then yes, keeping BTJ / BOLT in your Final Universe makes perfect sense.

Good Trading to you.

You can take your new stocks over to Stocktables and enter them manually.

From there:

NCTY: EPS-28 RS-8
OCN: EPS-11 RS-11
STEC: EPS-20 RS-88

Not very good numbers. Especially since there's already 75+ symbols in the list. If there was 20-25, I'd consider it.

I used to use Qcharts, did I miss a way to filter stocks for those parameters, or do you do a visual scan?

But price overextend after all is a continuation/confirmation, would you agree?

Haroki,

Is it necessary to be a subscriber to Stocktables to be able to scan manually?
I can't seem to find it.. (without having to sign up). Do you have a link?

Yes, 75 is a lot. I would also prefer <50, especially as I do channel/gaussian analysis every day. I have included the %institutional parameter to limit the number of new object a bit.

Do you use DU in your daily analysis?
