it's true, if I don't see an answer fast enough I wil go back to the main future thread. It will be there somewhere.:)

... and, most of what people needed are in January and February.

ok, I forgotten the Journal actually started in the last week of December.

Quote from Jander:
This makes sense for the first bar in question (12:10). However, on Spyder's chart he has a pt3 annotated for the dominant traverse at 12:20. There still seems to be no answer to why the other two bars mentioned (12:25 and 12:45) CANNOT be FTTs. I figure he mentioned those specifically for a reason, just cant seem to find it.
These types of issues have been cropping up lately and I really havent seen anyone that has it down pat. I have seen quite a few posters that I respect and that have worked hard at this for years struggle with this very problem. I would really appreciate an answer to the proposed question rather than some rhetorical "what is volume telling you" or " do 100 charts and you will see it " type thing. In my opinion, there is a ruleset that has not been introduced or that has been misinterpreted by a large group of folks here. A clear answer here would enable beneficial drilling to happen and I, and countless others Im sure, would be extremely grateful.

Maybe we can do one exercise together ("we" means anybody and everybody can/should chime in).

Looking at the price bars, can you list out what do you see? This is the first step in M; please list out everything... whether you think the information is relevant or not.

After we have completed "M", we can proceed to "A".
If we failed M here... we would not be going anywhere.

p.s. Please be patient; after you have made your list, give it some thoughts, then go back to the chart and look again. You might discover more observations. I expect it will take at least one day to list out all the observations. i.e. you might not find my response for at least one day.

Good idea Tums, let's all chime in and get to grips with the basics:D

Just as I thought I'd grasped the difference between tapes and traverses I stumbled upon this chart. Why is the first tape on this chart annotated as a traverse?

PS: Great idea, Tums!

Quote from Spydertrader:

It isn't.

Spydetrader, what exactly do you mean:

1. it isn't a traverse, or
2. it isn't annotated as a traverse?

Thank you.

Sorry for my English.

...I got confused ... trying to differentiate between tapes and traverses...

Can you give a definition of the following:
1. Tape
2. Traverse

Got it. :D Thanks to all contributions. The answer really lied in front of my tired and lazy eyes. :) There will be a lot of paper flying around in my room this weekend with lines on it resembling proper and thorough annotations.:p

It's time to get a piece of paper and draw out the different variations of tapes and traverses.
