Iterative Refinement

Would someone mind sharing what they had for a volume reading at 10:45? My Quotetracker shows 27,112 being increasing bar to bar, and my charting software shows 17,228 which indicates decreasing volume bar to bar.

Thanks in advance.

I think its best to chalk that up to the news, fortunately the markets movements following the news coincided with our context at the time. Like Spyder mentioned before, maybe in the futures thread, news can change everything. This time, anyone who was holding short into the news was rewarded :)

I respectfully disagree. My limited experience shows beyond any doubt that the sequences (or dominoes, as Spydertrader refers to them) are always there, news or no news, and while the sequences may go really fast or slow, they are still there where or not I can recognize them in real time.

10:50 bar (my bars are based on close rather than open) shows 17,367.

Its ok to disagree, just wait until that time comes where news is released and everything that led up to the sequences you anticipated ends up changing on a dime and the new information that was just disseminated to the market becomes what is relevant in the NOW. I've seen it happen many times before, and in the past I had been slow to update my thinking to include what is now relevant.

Maybe Spydertrader would care to chime in on this aspect, if I am wrong I will gladly admit it. Its just been in my experience that market moving news needs to be taken into account immediately, especiaally if it changes the context that price had just been in.

(All times Eastern and at Close of bar) Please note both the 9:58 AM and the 10:00 AM Bars on the YM. Now look at the 10:00 AM bar on the ES. The YM clearly led the ES. News or not, someone has the information before the rest of the world, and their actions, always leave clues on the charts.
