Iterative Refinement

Quote from LostTrader:

Tiki, it may not be important now, but your M8 chart doesn't have the 10/11 - 12/11 CO\ RTL.

At this time the data feed I am using from the broker does not offer continuous contract. This is a daily of just the M contract and a little of the previous contract.

Got short SNCR today in what I feel is a point 3 on the daily following the FTT which netted me a point four or five days ago. Increasing red needs to come in tomorrow.

Comments appreciated

ES M8 Daily Chart April 9 2008

Daily ES bar formed an outside bar on increased red volume today. Also had an FBO of the up channel it is in.

Placed an FTT over Monday's daily bar for now unless it gets taken out by increasing price.

This would be too harsh and unwarranted even if it came from an expert (except it you were joking, and I missed it) ... :(

Just a thought...stop trading and learn the method first.

Hi ehorn,
I think you're doing fine work. I made a few notes on the chart you posted this morning. I hope this helps,
Good trading to you. :)

My apologies, In my rush to make an appointment I neglected to add the friendly yet humorous emoticon :) to my suggestion. :p

No worries Guava - you took me out to the old digital woodshed on that one :)

Truth be told, I made some rather poor decisions today and after a thorough debrief realized them. My focus was poor today, my housekeeping was sub-par (in fact flat out wrong on a few channels and gaussians), my anaylsis was sloppy, and my actions were flippant.

End result, a bad trading day. The market did its job, just like every other day. But I was not doing mine. The signals are there every day in the same manner and nothing changes.

But my posting really had a few intents.

I wanted to make a point that as a student of these methods learns and grows, they learn not only from success, but also from failure. It is a part of learning. I mean we are not only learning about the methods and their application, but about our own strengths, weaknesses and tendencies - You know, that old saying "Know Thyself".

I am certainly not foolish enough to think that ANYONE learning these methods has never had a bad trading session (I am not ashamed of failure, unless it is repeated too often :) and some of my tendencies have shown up more than once now) But for me, sharing it with the community helps to bring it to the front of a my consiousness which allows a greater awareness and focus on finding the appropriate solutions (i.e. Exposing it makes a person really bear down on it).

Also, sometimes I get the feeling others are having problems and roadblocks but are afraid to bring them out to find solutions.
I mean for goodness sakes, none of us were born with these abilities :)

I am here to learn and share and grow and in turn maybe help others obtain their goals. I really have seen how this thread in particular draws in very genuine people who are kind and of one mind in their purpose. THAT IS REALLY AWESOME!

I know my strengths: I am a focused, patient and steadfast and will do the necessary things required to reach a fullness of understanding. I am happy and grateful to have such an outlet and people who share in the journey, both in achievements, and even the failures from time to time. It is how we ALL grow.

Thanks for the kind words folks.

Wow. Even those who aren't so articulate are still represented in this thread. :D

Thank you for sharing your experience.
